The Voice of Bart
Nancy Cartwright plays the underachieving, prankster Bart Simpson. Cartwright, who joined the Tracey Ullman show in 1987, was no stranger to cartoons before joining the cast of the Simpsons. She has done voice work for such cartoons as: "Animaniacs", "Goof Troop", "Snorks", "Glo-Friends", "Pound Puppies", "Galaxy High", "Fantastic Max", "Richie Rich", "My Little Pony". Other acting credits include brief appearances on "Cheers", "Mr. Belvedere" the movie, "Flesh and Blood" and other feature films.Cartwright had initially auditioned for the role of Lisa, but the producers felt she was better suited for the role of Bart. She is also the voice of other Simpsons characters such as Nelson Muntz, Kearney, Todd Flanders, Ralph Wiggum, Database and Jimmy.
