My Dear Friend:

Well it seems the goblins are at play as the time draws nearer for the ~Gathering~. It seems they have decided to try my patience and I am sure that there is more than one poltergeist at work as well... But let me explain... Yesterday, after sending out the mail, I began my duties of the day. Jerry had made a list of destinations and things he needed me to do and being a good wife, I decided to carry them out as soon as possible. I drove to his attorney's office to speak with her and when i began the descent down her office stairs, I managed to stumble or trip or maybe i really did feel an ever so slight push *hummmm* When I was finally able to stand *after trying DESPERATELY to maintain some sort of feminism sprawled out on the pavement* I found myself barely able to stand and hobbling to my car I made the astounding discovery of just HOW IMPORTANT one's right foot truly is. It is used in the obvious things such as walking and standing, but i also realized that it tis the most important foot in driving as well... I managed to make it to the doctors office, after realizing that I just might have really hurt myself, and after taking the x-rays, was told that they needed a second opinion as to whether it would require orthopedic surgery or not. So I am still awaiting the final word but for now it tis being treated as a bad sprain... I have a brace, crutches, painful arms and a badly swollen right ankle... ENOUGH for one month!!!... I had the most wonderful weekend with my Jerry, he leaves the FIRST DAY... and here i am, totally helpless for most normal routine activities... BEWARE THE GHOSTS AND GOBLINS!!!

A knowledge
that another has felt as we have felt,
and seen things
not much otherwise than we have seen them,
will continue to the end
to be one of life's choicest blessings.
*Robert Louis Stevenson*

So here I sit... typing out yet another strange tale... in the life and times of this Lady... I have tried to think of this as a tragedy, but for some odd reason, it seems more of a play of ironic misfortune... Now that I have been assured by my place of employment that all is well and this sort of accident was unavoidable and it will NOT influence their thoughts on my performance, I am able to even smile at the whole thing. Jerry knows how easy and PREDICTABLE this accident truly was, and I am SURE that Jerry would add - it was just WAITING TO HAPPEN! So expect to hear and see more of me in the next few days... I will sit as long as I can without the swelling forcing me elsewhere... HAPPY HALLOWEEN!!!

Thy Friend - Lady Constance

I HAVE LEARNED THAT

it's fun and satisfying
to write in my journal
the good things that happen to me
every day.
