On
the occasion of his 5th Death anniversary the San Gwann Local
Council has named a street in this town for George Tayar, former president
of the Jewish Community.
The
president of the Malta - Israel Cultural & Friendship Society, Lawrence
Attard Bezzina, formally asked the San Gwann Local Council to name a street
after George Tayar, a well-known Jewish philanthropist and businessman.
The San Gwann council accepted this
suggestion and after the 5-year regulatory wait immediately kept its promise.
