Brian's Stats

Brain was born on October 5, 1948. (Happy 50 th Birthday Brian!!!!!!)
Brian was born in Newcastle, England.
Alan Johnson, Brian's dad fought in World War II.
Before joining AC/DC Brian was in a group called:Geordie They had a short string of success in the UK. Three of their singles hit the top 20. This however was very short, Brian and the rest of Geordie had a very hard life
"We used to get up at 5:30 in the morning and follow the Milkman around. We used to look in the window at Indian restaurants and wait for people to leave a half eaten meal just so we could run in and steal it. Jesus the things we'd do. We never saw a penny from the records."

Geordie pushed on until 1975. By '80 Geordie was doing local gigs. Then one day "Jonna" got a call:

"Then the telephone call came though from this guy who I couldn't even remember hardly, and he said, 'There's a band that wants a singer and I can't tell you who it is. ' And I said, 'I don't want to know if you can't tell it.' And he said, 'Well I can tell you the initials,' so he told me, and I said that's strange, because the singer just died two weeks ago. And he said, 'They're really hard working guys, you know? Nothing will stop them.' And I said, 'I've lost it, really. I've not sung professionally for four or five years or something."

Brian goes to the audition, sings 'Whole Lotta Rosie' and gets the job!

Angus once said, "Brian came in, never sung a note, played a great game of pool..."

Things are starting to turn around for Brian and his family.

There was only one problem. How would the fans react to Brian? We all know they welcomed him with open arms.

Brian's singing influences are: Joe Cocker, Ray Charles, and Howlin' Wolf, just to name a few.

How did AC/DC hear about Brian?
One night Bon's old band Fraternity was being supported by Geordie. Brian is signing when he hits the floor and goes ballistic. He was screaming, and yelling, rolling on the floor.
The crowd goes wild, then an ambulance comes in and take Brian off in a stretcher. The audience thinks this is part of the show.
It turns out Brian has an eager attack of appendicitis
