I just found out about this the other day...but damned if it didn't bring tears to my eyes...I guess getting old isn't so bad after all...If these are the memories I can leave behind... This is an essay Ryan, my Oldest Grandson wrote for his English Class...God Bless Him, and God Bless You All Equally As Much...Damn, but I Love You Peoples...This is it, mistakes and all...

ESSAY BY RYAN BEST:
One family member who had a strong influence on my life would be my grandpa. We have had a strong bond ever since I was born. We have always had the same likes and dislikes.. My grandpa is sixty-four years old, he has a grey beard and grey hair. He is about six feet tall and he is a little on the scrawny side. He is one of the coolest people that I know. Even though he is sixty-four, he still acts like a 15 year old sometimes. He was the first person that I knew that had a Nintendo Game System... My grandpa, Tom, has always been a hard worker. When he was living on Pewaukee Lake, whe he was a kid, his family was somewhat poor, so he got a job being a bus boy. He worked all of the time, and made a lot of money. He had more money than any of his friends, but he never had any time to play. He worked until he was sixty-two, and now he still has a part time job... One of my favorite hobbies, along with my grandpa's is fishing. He taught me how to fish when I was about three years old. Every weekend in the summer he would take me to the river or Fruit Pond. We would fish for hours and after we were done we would go to his favorite little tavern, Rano's. If you went there today, you would probably find him playing cribbage with his friends... My grandpa's best friend was his cousin Bob. My grandpa, Bob and I would go fishing a lot together. One time we went to Mendota Lake in Madison to catch some jumbo perch. A funny thing happened that day. Grandpa was putting a hook on my line when all of a sudden a big fish hit his pole and took it over the side of the boat. The rod ws a nice seventy five dollar ultralight. I thought that he would be really mad but surprisingly he kept his cool. We ended up catching a lot of fish that day... Everything was great until 1990. Bob got real sick with cancer. Good old Bob was a hefty man weighing over two hundred and fifty pounds! When he got cancer it ate him down to about a hundred and seventy five. We all knew that it wouldn't be long before Bob would pass away. A couple of months later he died peacefully in his sleep. He was a good guy. My grandpa was devistated. Ever since then we haven't gone fishing and that really bothered me. I knew that it would be hard for him to go because it would remind him of Bob, but he would just have to get over it. I have been talking about going on a fishing trip this summer and he has agreed. I wrote this story about my grandpa because he is one of my best friends. Not all kids can say that, but I can...We will be good fishing partners for life... By: Ryan Best p.s. I haven't been fishing since...but needless to say Ryan and myself remain best friends...May God Bless all of You Great People as abundantly as "He" Did me...Love You All, and sorry if I intruded on your mail...
