We booked a 3 night, four day stay through FunJet
at the Royal Solaris in Los Cabos, mainly to try an all-inclusive resort.
I had read some of the mixed
reviews and was prepared for the worst; however. we were pleasantly
surprised by the resort. The property
is new, and in a little disrepair, but they seem to be resolving those
issues. I did notice "the missing pool
tiles" from prior reviews, but it did not ruin my holiday in the sun.
We did tip the waiters to ensure
consistant service. The drinks were great, they certainly were not
watered down and we had no problem
drinking the water or consuming drinks with ice from the hotel. The
wather was beautiful. It was forecasted
to be 77 the whole time, but we had 87-92 degrees the entire time,
just incredible. The beach was nice,
but we spent most of the time at the many pools as we had two 5 year
olds with us. The food was pretty
average. The breakfast was grest, omlette bar, waffles, etc., the lunches
were kind of mystery meat and
the fish on the menu was unrecognizable, but we did not go there for
the food. It definately sustained us,
so we did ok. I don't think I could stand much more than four days
of the food though. For those who go
to business conferences with hundreds of people, that's about the quality
of the food. The rooms were
pretty nice. They have traditional tile floors, and the beds were pretty
comfy, nice bathroom and great
balcony. It's a great resort if you just want to hang by the pool and
get some sun and cocktails. The staff
was pretty attentive and did not approach us for time share!! Bring
snacks for kids before you get there.
Ours got tired of the "hamburgers" I think it was dog or definately
mystery meat. Lots of retired folks, and
fun families from Canada. Not a romantic "singles" resort.
