This lesson will help you learn about Quaduplicities, otherwise known as the Qualities.
Quadruplicities
The signs are also divided into three groups called the quadruplicities. These
represent the basic 'qualities' of the personality. The signs of each group are
'opposite' (180 degrees), and 'square' (90 degrees) to one another.
Cardinal:
Aries,
Cancer,
Libra,
Capricorn.
Fixed:
Taurus,
Leo,
Scorpio,
Aquarius.
Mutable:
Gemini,
Virgo,
Sagittarius,
Pisces.
The Cardinal Personality
These are the initiators, they are good at starting projects but may lack staying power. They are ambitious and opportunistic. They tend to manage things from a personal standpoint and vehemently take the lead of any activity.

Ambitious,
Outgoing,
Enterprising,
Vigorous,
Dynamic.
Those with most
planets in cardinal signs will exhibit these qualities.
The Fixed Personality
The fixed signs are persistent and resistant to change. They will resist starting new projects for as long as possible, however, once started they will usually see them through to the end.

Steady,
Reliable,
Steadfast,
Dominant,
Resolute,
Determined.
People with many
planets in Fixed signs will exhibit these qualities.
The Mutable Personality
This group is good at picking up ideas and developing them, though they can be easily distracted and can lack direction. They are endlessly searching for answers.

Submissive,
Flexible,
Superficial,
Adaptable,
Passive,
Amenable,
Receptive.
People with many
planets in Mutable signs will exhibit these qualities.
Exercise:
1) Use a Thesaurus to examine other words connected with the keywords.
2) Look at your Natal Charts. Count how many planets are in each Quadruplicity. Consider the results.
The Qualities with the majority of planets in will have the greatest affect on the personality, regardless of Sun sign.
3) Send me your results using words that are NOT included
in the keywords.E.g.
1st Chart - Fixed - this person is hard headed, loyal and decisive.
4) Mix your findings for the Elements and Qualities.
E.G.
1st Chart - Earth/Fixed - This person will be committed and loyal. Although
hard headed they are steadfast and able to make decisions.

5) Look at the tables below.
From this information you should be able to determine which of the signs each of the planets and signs are in.
For example:
Sun is fire, Sun is fixed. Therefore, the sun must be in the fixed fire sign,
which is Leo.
