The 1st quarter relates to the development of a person at the beginning of life, its opposite the 3rd quarter relates to marriage, reproduction, death and afterlife. The 2nd and 4th quarters cover matters relating to the personal life and the social life. The 4th is the house of the home, the private life, the nurturing parent (often the mother, though not always), a persons roots, history and ancestry, for these things give a person the sense of belonging. This is both the home we grow up in, and the home we create for ourselves, the 4th also refers to the physical home, that is the land and buildings, therefore real estate. How does the person see the nurturing parent? What kind of home did they grow up in and what is the one like that they create for themselves? Do they lock themselves up in their home and rarely come out? Or perhaps they use their home as just somewhere to crash at night. Maybe they work from home. How do they decorate their home? What is their attitude to the past, history? How do they feel about their home country? Are they patriotic? The 3rd also refers to conditions at the end of life. The 10th House is opposite to the 4th. That House relates to matters outside the home. Things like career, social status and ambitions, also the disciplining parent. Just as the 4th house is rooted in the past, the 10th stretches for the future. |
