17 tracks in under 20 minutes This can only be a good thing in my book and Fig4.0 do not disappoint. Make no mistake this is hardcore and it’s hardcore done well. Fast and frantic but not the generic heads down full speed thrash you get from other bands of the genre, this album has tempo changes that only add to it’s power. There’s even a few offbeat ska kinda rhythms. Musically it’s infinitely more fresh and exciting than most hardcore/thrash around these days. Lyrically it is fairly predictably. Political in the most part, you know the story, anti-globalisation, disaffected youth, and all the things that piss off all hardcore bands. If you like that you’ll love this. Oh and one of the songs is about falling off a bike, so not entirely predictable. The presentation of this CD is great as well. It is clear with a target logo on and looks amazing. Some splits are apparently available/out soon and I can’t wait for them. Fig4.0 fully deserve the reputation of one of the countries best bands. Just plain ace.
