Neglected Youth VS Awkward silence

split
Released 10/03/03. RC#04
Another stunning release from the islands little labe , this split should of been called ' Hardcore VS Geeky emocore' but dont get me wrong, the Hardcore doesnt win outright , the island has a habit of producing amazing geek bands!!

An unusual and effective track listing has been used on this split CD, instead of each band playing there songs and the other band following up with there songs this splt mixes them both up, so you have Hardcore followed by Emo and so on.This Might sound a bit dubius but it acttualy works really well, expescially considering the diffence in music and lyrical content!

Ill attempt to sum both bands up for yoU,

Neglcted youth - Fast , heavy guitar riffs, fast drumming, aggresive vocals ,melodic hardcore that has moments of chaos inbetween well structed and thought out songs.Nothing amazing ,and nothing you havnt heard before , but its not bad either

Neglected Youth tracks;

  • Alive by Night
  • Bad news for a Good day Neglgted Youth , M.M.W-Rating 3/5

    Awkward Silence - hard to sum these guys up, there first track 'pin ball disaster' is ballsy all out punk with catchy guitar riffs and full on slurry pumk vocals, i got the feeling that this was them giving it everything, and i hope it is because i fucking love this song. After the punk song comes the slow accoustic geeky song that Awkward Silence i known for , slow emotinal music with 'meaingfull' lyrics.
