an innocent dirt trail
framed in growing grass
and slender trees with leaves
beware the temptation to follow
it leads not to heavenly clouds
a pair of dragonflies dance across the path
the tall grass whispers playfully
and a golden dandelion smiles
all oblivious to what lies ahead
one step is enough
dark ooze surrounds the foot
stumbling and seeking the beaten path
emerging a frightening sight
and the little brown rabbit scampers away
it appears to be an innocent trail
only to lure the innocent in
home-o sapiens
