Led Zeppelin

Led Zeppelin was formed by Jimmy Page. He was in another band called the Yardbirds with another legendary guitarist, Eric Clapton. They recorded their last album in 1968. They broke up and Page tried to reform the group with new members. He got Robert Plant who was suggested by a friend. He was now their new singer. After that Plant told Jimmy to get John Bonham to play drums. He was in Plants earlier band, The Band Of Joy. They also got bassist John Paul Jones. They changed their name to Led Zeppelin after The Who's Kieth moon suggested it. They released the album Led Zeppelin, follwed by Led Zeppelin II and III. They were all big hits here in America and in England. Their next album was actually untitled, but it came to be called either Led Zeppelin IV or Zoso. This was their best album, and one of the best albums of all time according to some people. They toured the states and Europe constantly and still put out a few more great albums. In September of 1980, drummer John Bonham was found dead after a long day of heavy drinking. The band decided to call it quits. They couldn't find anyone as good as Bonham. Led Zeppelin was one of the first and best metal bands ever.
