The picture shown above was received at this site in August of 2007 and was prepared by Wayne VanDerVoort of Altamont, N.Y. to honor his father, Henry VanDerVoort (S1c) who was a sailor on board the USS Norman Scott (DD-690). Wayne states that the flag used in this picture and the one that he made for me flies over the grave site of Uncle Sam (Samuel Wilson). The ship shown above was named to honor Admiral Scott who was killed in the Battle of Guadalcanal.
