The Carrier is one of the protoss's best units for brute firepower. The Carrier has no weapons of it's own but it is able to rather quickly produce Interceptors, the Carriers weapon, for only 25 minerals per Interceptor. With no upgrades the Carrier can carry four Interceptors but with the Carrier capacity upgrade, available at the protoss Fleet Beacon, it can carry eight. sending the Carrier to battle without this upgrade is a very bad choice. A group of carriers attacking an enemy base can cause signifigant damage if not destroying it. However, as most good units have the Carrier does have one slight weakness, if the Carrier is destroyed then all of the Interceptors from that Carrier die as well. Remember this in case you ever get attacked by Carrier's, destroy the Carrier not the Interceptors you may have to tell your uunits or cannons to attack the carrier specifically. Carriers are best used with some some other type of unit attacking with it for more power and other things for the enemy to shoot at. An example is your attacking an enemy base with four Carriers, make three to five scouts to cover air and about a dozen Zealots to cover the ground and you will soon find that the enemy cannot touch your Carriers while the Carriers decimate the enemy base.
