Unimog 404 Crawlerbox for sale $1200
A crawler box added to the bottom of the 404 makes rock crawling much easier. The lower gears allow you time to turn the wheel which can sometimes be very hard without power steering. I allows the engine to run a lower rpm's and just ideal up those rocks. The box has two lower gears with a ratio of 46.01 and 25.34. Considering that first gear on the 404 is very low at 14.93 to 1 this greatly lowers your ratio. In the lowest gear the total ratio including the transmission, differential and the hub portal the ratio is 347 to 1. It takes about one hour to add the crawler box to the bottom of the transmission.
