Excerpts of interviews which appeared in an article entitled
"When School Comes Before Walking"
on Weekend Today dated 13-14 November 2004:
Excerpts:
"I don't want him to stay at home and rot away. I want him to be enriched because he's now at this window period where the more he explores, the more his brain would develop ... When he attends the classes, he enjoys interaction with other kids. He gets very excited when he sees kids of the same height ... I just want him to be enriched. If he doesn't enjoy attending the classes, I wouldn't send him there."
Mrs Doreen Lim, mother of Ethan aged 2, who joined Shichida at 9 months old.
"Many babies just stay at home and go goo-goo-ga-ga. So, I decided to find something for Elise to do ... [I'm] happy to note that Elise can now read and recognise at least 500 words ... Everyone said that my husband and I are so kiasu. So we told ourselves that if Elise cries during classes, then we'll take her out but she hasn't cried even once! In fact, she enjoys it. She's a very happy baby and that's why I think we're on the right track."
Mrs Tracy Hu, mother of Elise aged 2 and a half, who joined Shichida also at 9 months old.
"Even while in the mother's womb, a foetus is capable of having images in its mind from 5 months onwards. A foetus in the womb can receive parental thoughts and feelings which then manifest as images in its brain. They are perfectly capable of capturing thoughts in their minds ... It's not shocking for a child to hear a piece of music and then play the same piece on the piano without looking at the notes. Through mass memorisation and automatic-processing function in their right-brains, babies are also able to recall hundreds of words on flashcards easily."

Footnote:
The average IQ score of human beings is 100, with only 1% achieving an IQ of 140.
One of Prof Shichida's goal is to help a child attain a minimum IQ of 140
which most of his students do achieve, although this is not the main purpose of The Shichida Method™.
IQ of 140 is the point where genius begins.
