Mystery Mode
On the title screen, press Up, Down, L, R, Select. Go to the Options menu. Now you can turn on Mystery Mode, which gives you an overhead view of your car.
Play as your opponent
On the title screen, press L, R, Up. Begin a 1-player game and you will be able to race as your opponent.
