Buy any magic item
Go to a weapons shop. Select the character you want to buy an item. Before you press B to buy, take the Bard's Tale 2 disk from the drive. Replace it with any other Electronic Arts game, then press B to buy. If this works, you will be able to buy any magic item in the game.
