The Backstreet Boys were in founded in 1992 in Orlando, Florida. A.J. McLean, Howie Dorough, and Nick Carter frequently bumped into each other at auditions for local commercials, theater, and television. During one audition, the boys realized they could harmonize together and soon became a trio. Kevin Richardson moved to Orlando and became a tour guide at Disney World. Eventually, he met up with A.J., Nick, and Howie and they decided to form a group. Kevin later called his cousin Brian Littrell and persuaded him to join the group. The boys named themselves after an Orlando fleamarket.
Record producer Louis J. Pearlman asked Donna and Johnny Wright to manage the band. Then in 1994, the Wrights got the boys a record deal from Jive Records. The Backstreet Boys's first album was released in Europe and North America in 1995. The boys soon became a hit all over Europe. Despite their incredible success in Europe, the boys still longed for fame in the U.S. The Backstreet Boys finally got noticed in the states after the release of Backstreet's Back. The hit singles were "Quit Playin' Games (with my heart)" and "As Long As You Love Me." On May 18, 1999, the boys released their third album Millennium. Congratulations guys!
