History
New Syrtis was discovered during the era of the Terran Alliance. It was not colonized until the latter half of the 2260s. When large metal deposits were discovered, it was much like the gold rush of terran history. Thousands tried to make it rich, many succeeded. In the temperate zone cities appeared, such as Pink Passion, Lady's Favor, and Hangover Hell. These cities stripped the miners of there new found wealth. When the upper deposits faded, out went the single miners and in came the corporations. These "sin cities" also diappeared at this time. At approximately this time, the planet was entitled to the Haseks. They slowly gained control of the mining industries. New Syrtis is the capital of the Cappellan March.

Economy
New Syrtis (as aformentioned) has large metal deposits which are used throughout the Federated Commonwealth. Johnston Industries on New Syrtis manufactures the AXM-1N Axman, CES-3R Caesar, Goblin, Jhonston Cleaver-V, CommuTech Multi-Channel 10, CommuTech XL, Johnston Q-Band, Johnston Q-Rotor 2, Johnston Wide Band, Blazefire Sweetshot (ER Large Laser), BlazeFire Systems (Large Laser), Intek (medium lasers), Johnston Parti-Cannon (PPC), Johnston High Speed (ERPPC), Luxor Devastator-20 (AC20), Poland Main A (Gauss Rifle), Poland Main C (Gauss Rifle), Johnston MiniGun (MG), Durrallex Light Ferro Fibrous Armor, Fireheart 180 (Fusion Engine). The New Syrtis Shipyards produce the Gazelle, Mammoth, and Monarch dropships along with the Bally Tech Super X40, Marly 750, and Star League V95 interplanetary dropship drives.

Geography
The magority of New Syrtis is covered in an ever thickening blanket of snow and ice. There is only a small temperate zone around the equator. The capital city Saso is located on the northern continent.

Martial Information
A Cappellan attack against New Syrtis is not an uncommon thing.

Landmarks
The Hasek palace is on a complex of hills overlooking Saso. The University of Saso is nearby.
