Kore
History
Kore belonged to the Alfin Mining Corporation. It was invaded by Clan Steel Viper. The Storm Riders liberated Kore while under contract of Alfin corp. In the early 3060's it was attacked and held for a short period of time by a pirate band. During this time, fleeing garrison members stumbled upon a hidden Steel Viper cache in the Jotun Mountains and used it to take back the planet.

Economy
Heacy metal deposits make Kore a worthwile target for Alfin Mining Corporation.

Geography
The Jotun Mountains have rich metal deposits and many of them are still volcanic. Most of the planet is flat tundra, crevasses deep enough to hide a BattleMech are scattered about, hidden by the snow. The biggest population center is Niffelheim which is characterized by grey ferrocrete buildings. The city was pretty much undamaged from the clan occupation due to the strong structure of the buildings.

Climate
Kore is in perpetual winter. The warmest part of the year only gets up to 11, 12 degrees C. The magnetic field of Kore is strong due to the many mineral deposits. This sometimes plays havoc with BattleMech sensors.

Culture/Demographics
The majority of the population on Kore is of euro-germanic decent. They are characterized by light skin and hair, blue eyes and a tall strong build. There is a small population of people with an oriental/Draconis background.

Martial Information
Kore is garrisoned by the Kore Lancers Lance of the Storm Riders Mercenary Company.
