Fargo, directed by Joel Cohen, is an outstanding flick about a master plan gone awry.
I was never so impressed with a movie before. I was drawn into it by it's colorful characters and twisted story. The underlying theme of the movie is GREED! Everyone wants money. Jerry Lundergard wants money to finance his real estate deal. Gaear Grimsrud and Carl Showalter want more money for their kidnapping. Wade doesn't want to give up the ransom money, even for his own duaghter! Even Marge's husband wants more! He wasn't quite satisfied with his 3 cent stamp. I love the way the movie unfurls itself and deep plot. I also liked the language... ie: "eh, ya, yar darn tootin', ect." This is a must see! Other Cohen flicks include: The Big Lebowski (another great flick with an awesome story!) and The Hudsucker Proxy (big budget with little return, still a damn good flick!). There are others out there, these stand out the most!
This movie has a lot of little moments that you can't help but notice and say, "Damn, that was cool!" I love the part where Carl says,"Who the fuck are you," when Wade delivers the money to the kidnapper. The acting is what really makes he movie come to life! I get drawn into the movie every time I see it, and I take notice to little details I may have missed along the way. Do the world a favor, not to mention yourself, rent or buy Fargo and sit down to watch it! It is worth you time!
