Dragoons have become a favorite among many players now. This is only because they can be mass produced as zealots, and have a range attack. They are very versatile, being able to attack air and land, good speed, and has a strong attack. Dragoons are as very strong, being able to survive a shot from a tank or reaver. They're also great units to destroy defensive structures.
Dragoons are great support units to zealots or reavers. Having a range attack allows them to always attack an enemy. They can be used through out the game, being able to take out battle cruisers, carriers, and guardians. Also bunkers, photon cannons, and sunken colonies won't stop an army of dragoons.
They have the usual upgrades, attack, armor, and shield. However the most useful upgrade is the range upgrade, which gives them a huge range, able to out range bunkers. I usually start to reserach the range upgrade before I produce my first dragoon, because it takes quite a long time before it completes. When you do get the upgrade, your dragoons can hit melee units several times before they can close in, and also force other range units to get closer since you have a longer range.
