((((((((((-=[Early Game]=-))))))))) The Protoss, do benefit by being able to constantly work in the mineral field, since a single probe can do all the work of warping structures in. Early pylon placement isn't much of a problem, but it can spell defeat if they manage to cut power to your structures. They enjoy having the best basic unit, the zealot, since 1 zealot can easily take out a pair of zerglings, or a marine. However they are expensive, and take twice as long to warp in. This can be equalized with the fact that gateways do warp in faster than barracks can be created. The Protoss, can easily overpower an enemy if they try to climb the tech tree to units such as the dark templar............. The assimilator leads to gas, which leads to the production of Dragoons. These units now can be produced as fast as a zealot, and have a good range attack, once the upgrade is finished. They are great units, being able to take out any other range unit in the game very effectively. Also with a more HP than a zealot, these units soon become the main army of the Protoss.............. ((((((((((-=[Mid Game]=-))))))))) At this point the Protoss have to decide what advanced structure they should build. A robotics leads to early expansions, on island maps. It also can produce the reaver which will be very useful for breaking into a Zerg or Protoss base. The most important unit though is the observer. Thses units are necessary, since every race now has an invisible threat, which makes it impossible to attack. Of course they make good scouts as well................. A citadel of adun, will help to make zealots more effective via speed upgrade. Also this structure is necessary to obtaining templars. Once your templar archives is constructed, you gain access to the strongest units the Protoss have. Templars are very useful against any unit, making them a good choice to produce. You must upgrade psionic storm and the +50 energy upgrade. Dark templars are also deadly, especially if they are created fast enough that the other race still has no detectors. They also make very good defensive units................ A stargate, would be an interesting option. I would consider this a late game structure since scouts require at least two mineral sites. You could try to use corsairs to quickly rush an opponent with disruption web. This wouldn't be such a bad idea since you can stop siege tanks this way, which are the only thing preventing the Protoss dragoons from running a base over. Well anyone can go try this, and tell me if it works If you plan to upgrade your units, then try to concentrate only on attack, since armor is only half of units life, and the same goes for shields. Besides, shields take full damage, so 1 extra shield won't help as much as 1 extra armor. Also shields are very expensive to upgrade, so don't bother............... (((((((-=[Late Game]=-))))))) The Protoss can stick with basic units still and destroy everyone. They can also try to create a scout group to slowly whittle away at the opponents. The Protoss can also try a templar drop on an opponents base. This is probably the best way to destroy workers of all three races. Arbiters could also be used to bring in a huge Protoss army. Reavers are also an option, yet still not effective as a templar. Basically the Protoss can try to pick battles they can win, and retreat when they can't, and hopefully they can psi storm masses of units along the way..................
