This is the Spring Garden Cake that I made for my mom and mother in law for Mother's Day 2001. I was inspired to make it when I saw it in a back issue of Martha Stewart's Living Magazine April 2000 issue. The one in her magazine was a 40 inch by 50 inch cake that was ALL EDIBLE! Including the gate, birdbath, etc.
The cake is a carrot cake (recipe on my site) with cream cheese frosting. The dirt is ground up Cocoa Puffs, the grass is Green Colored Sugar and the vegetables are made of Marzipan (almond paste).
