Vincent Price
Early Life
Vincent Leonard Price was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 27, 1911. In his youth he traveled Europe, attended Yale, and later became an actor. He made his first screen debut in 1938 in the movie Service de Luxe. After a series of minor appearances he started taking parts in low budget horror movies such as House of Wax (1953). His role in House of Usher (1960) would be his first major success. He became known for his eerie voice and dark facial expressions, and would go on to star in Gothic horror features such as Pit and the Pendulum (1961) and The Abominable Dr. Phibes (1971).
He became a major horror icon over the years, even doing the voice-over in Michael Jackson's Thriller (1983). He continued his acting career up until his death in 1991, with his last appearance being in Edward Scissorhands (1990). Despite his foreboding appearance he was a loving father and husband and will always be loved and cherished by his fans and those who knew him.
