The remake of Stephen King's It was just released yesterday, and so far has surprisingly good reviews. The 2017 release is said to be very different from its 1990 predecessor. The updated version of the story has a much darker tone and was done closer to the way Stephen King wanted it to be.

Admittedly, I've yet to see the new movie but plan on doing so soon. I've seen a number of mixed reviews so far that for the most part have been positive. The movie seems like a promising watch, and I'm excited to see it for myself.

John Carpenter, the director of the original Halloween (1978), is currently working on a remake of the beloved classic. It has been revealed that the movie will bring Halloween back to its roots and make Michael Myers' character more threatening and less supernatural in nature.

This news comes nearly a decade after the Rob Zombie remakes that disappointed fans, as well as Carpenter. In a 2016 interview he commented, "I thought he took away the mystery of the story by explaining too much about Michael Myers. I don't care about that. He's supposed to be a force of nature." The movie is set to hit theaters on October 19, 2018-- Just in time for Halloween!
