Notes on Lon Huffman Lee

Lon Huffman Lee's parents moved north to a place near the Arkansas River called Patterson's Bluff when he was a year old. He started school at Lone Gum. When the depression hit they moved back to Greasy Valley and Buster attended 6th grade at Harmony School. The next year found the family moving to the Pike Lee farm when he finished school in Paris, Arkansas.

At 17 Buster moved to Houston, Harris Co., TX and lived with his older brother, Albert where he worked in the city. After a period of time, he became homesick and returned to Arkansas only to move back to Houston, Tx. He then picked up the trade of apprentice electrical contractor which became his life's work.

Buster met Kathleen Coleman in Splendora, TX and married on May 22, 1940.

During WWII, he was prevented entering the military due to flat feet so he worked in the Navy shipyards in Houston, TX.

In 1944 he moved to Phoenix, AZ and remained till after WWII. The family moved to Cleveland, TX then returned to Phoenix, AZ in 1948.

After Kathleen died in 1977, Buster started to take trips to Arkansas to visit family and friends and during one of those trips he rekindled an old friendship that led to marriage with Irene Rice Wooten. He then sold his home in Phoenix, AZ and made a home in Paris, Logan Co., AR and later moved to Subiaco, Logan Co., AR.
