at Kilmore Cemetery

The leaning stone on the far right simply reads
Mac'ill'eathain-(gaelic for MacLean)





Erected by Duncan MacLean Carpenter Balnain in loving memory of his children James who died 9th Feb 1873 aged 6 years Evan who died 16th Feb 1873 aged 4 years. The above Duncan MacLean died 17th Dec 1904 aged 75 years and his wife Catherine McDonald died 1st Oct 1909 aged 70 years and his son Ewen died 27 June 1914 aged 38 years. Mary Ann died 28th Aug 1917 and John MacLean died 24 May 1926 aged 62 years.


In memory of Thomas MacLean Uppertown who died 18 Sept. 1884 aged 50 years and of his wife Mary Fraser who died 3rd June 1879 aged 45 and their daughter Margaret who died 16 November 1886 aged 16 years.


Sacred to the memory of Thomas MacLean, Uppertown who departed this life on the 18 Dec 1835 aged 73 years and his spouse Marget (sic) MacIntosh who departed this life on the 18th April 1855 aged 82 years. Placed here to their memory by their son Donald MacLean Farmer Uppertown Glen Urquhart who died on the 10th March 1884 aged 77years. Also his wife Chirstina (sic) MacDonald who died 16th March 1896 aged 83 years. Also the Rev. Evan MacLean died 3rd July 1924. Christina MacLean died 2nd April 1937 aged 80 years.


SIDE 1 - In Loving Memory of Donald MacLean, Braefield, who died 15 November 1908, aged 72 years. Also his wife Jessie MacMillan, who died 30 November 1908 aged 62 years, also their daughter Annie who died 5 November 1956 aged 86 years.

SIDE 2 - Also in memory of his eldest son Donald MacLean Surveyor, Fortrose, beloved husband of Isabella Grant who died 21 Jan. 1936 and their daughter Mary Lilly who died in infancy also the said Isabella Grant who died 20 August 1956.

SIDE 3 - Also in Loving Memory of Alexander MacLean second son who died and was buried at Nelson, British Columbia 13 August 1913, aged 39 years and John who was killed in action at Bullecourt France May 1818, aged 38 years.

SIDE 4 - Also their youngest son Thomas died at Braefield 6 April 1967, aged 85 years interred New Cemetery.
