An open letter to all who will read it:
I was raised in a home with a solid background of the Christian faith. My mother and father are both Christians and both teach Sunday School at my home church. Less than a month after I turned 5, I decided that it was time to give my life to God. During the invitation one Sunday night, I walked down the aisle, towing my mother by her hand, and accepted Jesus as my Savior, and the Lord of my life. Soon after, I was baptised.
Now this is not to say that since then, it's all been a breeze. I have had "pauses" in my walk down the road. "Pauses" are times that I was not growing; times when I was burned out, or stuck in a rut. But I have come to understand that Jesus has always been my answer. Everyone knows about "What would Jesus do?" Well, throughout my life, I have always been able to make the right decision (if I chose to) by just doing what Jesus would have done. It was that easy.
I attended a small Christian school. (Small is an understatement. I graduated with 16 other people.) There, I built a foundation of knowledge that I am able to use at all times. However, I don't believe that I really started to grow rapidly until I moved away to college. I attend the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. It's not the most religious place. But as my faith was tested, and had to be put into practice, I have grown closer to my God.
Whenever I have needed a shoulder, or just an ear to talk to... I might not be able to find a true friend, who will listen, and not judge. But Jesus is always there for me. He listens, he forgives, and then, best of all, he forgets. He won't dig up old mistakes and shove them in my face. He's my friend, my confidant, the One I love.
I guess that's about it, for the past, anyway. I'm always growing, and I never plan to end this relationship. Just know that God loves you, and He's there for you, if you'll just call out to Him.
Love in Christ,
Tulip
