The Choice

My name is Kelly.I can't tell you my last name,I don't care if the yeerks find me anymore but I won't tell you my last name.There might be a slight chance that we can save our friends and the Andalite homeworld.The yeerks have caught everyone,except me and Jesse.And they have the powerful crystal.They will use it to destroy the Andalite homeworld.Our friends were taken ten minutes ago,we had flown to the woods where Ax had lived and Tobias. We flew to the Andalite fighter.We demorphed as fast as we could,I was exhausted from too much morphing. "We have to morph Ax,then fix this.Then we go after the crystal,or everyone else." We morphed Ax quickly,then Jesse went inside the ship and started to repair it,and I worked on the hull outside,it had been damaged a bit.There were tools and the ship,and my brain knew what to use.For some reason part of Ax's memory came with the morph.That's how we knew how to fix the ship,his memory. I repaired the burn mark on the side which had been caused by a dracon beam.Then I went in and helped Jesse fix the engines.Half an hour later we had it fixed. Jesse stood in front of the controls and turned on the ship.I stood near the weapons. I asked.

If we went after our friends the Andalites would likely be toast,the yeerks probably built the weapon before they went after the crystal.If we went after the crystal our friends would be infested.Then we couldn't save them.I didn't know how to decide, that is why I had asked Jesse.He answered,I didn't like it,but he was right. Jesse turned on the fighter,there was a slight humming noise as the fighter warmed up.The fighter lifted off the ground, Jesse had on a screen that showed nearby vessels.We saw that the Bug Fighter with the crystal was near Earth's moon.We flew toward soace at a fast burn.Once in space we went to maximum burn.The Bug Fighter was going pretty slow,until the people inside noticed us coming.Then they shot off,and they headed into zero space,our tracers couldn't pick up ships in zero space.We also went into zero space.Zero space is mostly whiteness,that's all it looks like,a big sheet of blank paper.Now we had to wait till they came out of zero space,we had to guess where they would pop out,we might end up being too far away to stop them.

Jesse said.He was right, the yeerks knew they couldn't win with the Bug Fighter.We had to demorph,or we would get trapped in Andalite morph.It would take us a few days to get to the Yeerk home world,so it would be boring.There was nothing to do on the Andalite fighter.We would have to talk. "Where's tv when you need it?"I joked.Jesse smiled. "I haven't watched tv since we joined the Animorphs,only a few shows every once and awhile.Life was exciting enough." "What do you miss most that you lost before coming an Animorph?" I asked.I knew what it was,you missed being normal.But not with him. "I lost nothing before becoming an Animorph,I lost things when I became an Animorph."The rest of the trip was pretty quiet after that.

Days later we popped out of zero space,we were in Andalite morph. We were not far from the yeerk home world.The Bug Fighter had landed on the Yeerk home world.We would have to go in.There were lots of mother ships around the planet,there were three,there Bug Fighters and a few Blade ships leaving and entering.The planet looked green and brown from where we were,and stormy.There was no water,not much anyway.The planet also looked stormy.We wouldn't be detected,we were cloaked.There was only a slight chance that we would be detected,if a close ship scanned for ships. < We're going in.Kelly,one thing first.I just want to tell you that I like you,alot. >he said. < I know,I like you too. >We started to descend into our enemies planet.We had to get that crystal.

Our ship touched the ground gently,we hid it in a swamp to where the Bug Fighter had landed.We had to hide it because when your landing or on the ground the cloak shuts off.It's visible,but still undetectable to radar.As we were going through the swamp I saw air bubles float up nearby,and the water stirred.This place was giving me the creeps.Everything was dark in colour sort of,and there was a storm in the green sky.I suspected it was always like this. < We're almost out of the swamp. >Jesse said.Then a tenticle shot out of the water ,it grabbed me,then another tenticle grabbed Jesse,and we were lifted right out of the swamp!Then the creature rose out of the swamp too,it was brown,it had one eye and a huge mouth full of big teeth.It had stumps for legs,really big.It roared as it held us upside down,this guy wanted dinner,and that dinner was us. But we wouldn't go out easy,we would put up one good fight.We were in Andalite morph after all,and they have those wicked tails...

Ax's mind recognized the monster as an Antarean Bog.That didn't make me feel any better.< Go for the tenticles!Get free! >Jesse yelled.I sliced the tentacle holding me,I fell on my head into the water.I quickly got up,Jesse cut the tentacle holding him andd fell head first into the water. I leapt at it,my tail flashed.When I landed it was missing another tentacle,it had three left.Jesse slashed and cut off one of it's legs,it roared and fell into the water.We got away from there and headed to the ship.There was no one there,and neither was the crystal.I looked down a dirt road, there was what looked like a big metal castle in a dome,a yeerk base.The crystal was in there,I knew it.And two of us,had to go in there.Two against tons of Yeerks.

< We need to sneak in and get the crystal,or destroy it. >I said.Jesse nodded,his stalk eyes swept the area looking for danger,then he saidWe demorphed.Then we thought,we needed something small.Then I had a gross idea. "Fly time."Wr started to morph.I had never been a fly before,being one is ok, it's getting there that's the hard part.Big eyes bulged out of my head,wings exploded from my back,legs exploded from my chest.My nose and mouth became a long sucking,spitting tube,then I shrank.Little hairs grew all over me,they could sense vibrations.The morph was complete,I started to fly around,but I was not in control. When I finally got in control Jesse was nowhere to be seen,if he was I wouldn't see him any way.< Jesse?Where are you? >I asked nervously. < I don't know,but I know I'm near the base,meet you there,land on the dome. > When I got there he was waiting. < That you Jesse? >The fly stood still.Then I heard it answer. < No,it's some other fly.Let's wait till someone comes,opens the door,then we go in. >We didn't half to wait long.

We followed the Taxxon inside,we stayed together once inside,there was only one way to go,forward.We came into a room,it was full of Taxxon and Hork-Bajiir .I saw a tube going down,Ax had told us about them,elevator shafts,you used your mind for them.We went down.The next floor I could see the crystal,it was in a machine,a gun.They had constructed it already.The gun for it wasn't that big,it had been attached to a Big Fighter.I could see a Taxxon and a Hork-Bajiir inside.I saw a hole open in the dome,the Bug Fighter was going to leave!< Quick!In the door! >I said.We flew in,the door slid shut.We couldn't demorph,the Hork-Bajiir was in the back,we would be killed.I felt the Bug Fighter lift off the ground.and fly out of the dome,toward the Andalite home world.We might not be able to save it.

I could hear the Hork-Bajiir and Taxxon talking.I couldn't understand the Taxxon,but I could understand some of what the Hork-Bajiir said,they use part human and part of their own language."Almost nfrash ."The Taxxon replied in it's slithery voice,it sounded like hissing.Jesse thought spoke to me.< It's been about two hours,we have to demorph. >We demorphed quickly,the Hork-Bajiir was up front with the Taxxon.Jesse started to morph,he did a gorilla morph for the first time.He could take care of the two.Jesse lumbered up to the front,and he picked up the Hork-Bajiir and slammed it head first into the floor.Then he picked up the Taxxon,Jesse told me to move up front and open the hatch,I did.Then the Taxxon and the Hork-Bajiir were thrown outside.I closed the hatch.Jesse demorph ed,then we fell asleep,morphing is tiring.

When we awoke I saw a man inside the ship,I woke Jesse up. "Who are you?"I demanded.This man,he looked old,and there was something powerful about him.He was not human,I knew that for sure. "I am an Ellimist,more powerful than you can imagine." I remembered what Ax had told us about him. "Thank you for saving the Andalites,that was a very unselfish things.You lost your friends to save them, your friends are now Yeerks."Suddenly we were not in the space ship anymore,we were in space,but I could breathe. We were near a black hole,but it was not drawing us into it. I saw the crystal go into it,there was a huge explosion,but it did not harm us,it passed through us.I could no longer see the Ellimist,but he was with us.I heard him in my head. The planets are now safe from destruction,thank you. "I want payment"Jesse said.The Ellimist hesitated. What do you want?Jesse didn't hesitate."I want to go back in time."

Jesse wanted the Ellimist to take us back in time before we entered the cave where the crystal was. The Ellimist agreed,but there was one little catch.We had to be in different bodies,permanetly.Once the past had been changed me and Jesse would still be around,there would be two of us,and there couldn't be two of us.The Ellimist told us to choose a species."I want to be an Andalite,a war prince.I want to stay in the fight"Jesse said.I told the Ellimist I wanted to be an Andalite too,a war princess.You see,once we saved ourselves in the past,we would live on the Andalite homeworld.The Ellimist would make it so everyone there remembered us,it would be as if we had always been there. But we would still remember all this.Suddenly I was no longer me,I was a female Andalite.And I had new memories,memories from a life I had never lived.But I still had my old ones.And Jesse was a big strong male Andalite.We were no longer human,only partially.Are you ready?

Suddenly we were in the woods,everyone was about to morph a bird of prey.I could see my old self.< Wait! >Jesse said.They stopped and stared at us. < War prince Thor!War princess Arbrin!It is an honor to meet you! >Ax said.My name was Arbrin-Destar-Forran now.We were even in Ax's memory.Ax bowed before us. < We have come to guide you,follow us. >We all morphed birds of prey,I was suprised that we still had our old morphs. We flew to the mountain where the crystal was,and demorphed. < Morph something strong. >Jesse said.The old Jesse morphed a tiger,along with Steff.Eric morphed a bear,the old me morphed an elephant,Joel morphed a lion, Lara rhino,and Tobias morphed a Hork-Bajiir.We charged into the cave,we took the right.The crystal was right in the middle of the room,there were twenty Hork-Bajiir,nothing four Andalites couldn't handle and a whole bunch of mean Earth animals. We took them easily,and the old me in elephant morph picked up the crystal,and we retreated,all of us ok.

We went to where Ax and Jahar lived.We fixed up the fighter and put the crystal in it.When we were about to leave,Jesse and Kelly came up to us.Kelly was wearing part of the crystal Jesse had found,it was on a necklace.Jesse probably gave it to her.They somehow suspected that we were actually them."Do we know you?"Kelly asked. She wanted to ask more but war prince Thor and I got in the Andalite fighter and flew off.That's how I would call him from now on,but he'd always be Jesse,and I'd always be me.We took the crystal near a black hole,we jetosoned into space near the black hole.We punched up a maximum burn and blew out of there.I could see a huge explosion behind us.The crystal was now gone and all planets were now safe from it.
