Suzy's Zoo Rocks!
I found out about Suzy's Zoo from my health teacher/guidence councellor Ms._______ (the same one from the apbs)Who gave me a thank you card for a Christmas Gift and proceeded to spend 30 min telling me all about the world of Suzy's Zoo
Suzy's Zoo is all about these ducks, bears, marmots and other animals who live in Duckport (map below)
SUZY DUCKEN-a cheerful, friendly girl ducken who lives in the middle of Duckport, and only wants to make everyone happy.And that can get tricky from time to time.She is known and loved all over the Beak Isles, and is the spark of sunshine at the very heart of Duckport
JACK QUACKER is an excitable, accident-prone,
all-action, leap-first-think-later boy duck and natural-born
leader. He swims the fastest, he runs the hardest, and he
can even fly a little when adrenaline kicks in.
Jack is happiest when he's leading an adventure with his
friends, or caught up in some sort of daredevil sport. He
lives next door to Suzy, and grudgingly admits to being her
boyfriend now and then. Corky is his best pal.
CORKY TURTLE is everybody's best friend-to-the-end
boy turtle. He thinks things through, usually. He's durable,
patient and willing to try almost anything. He doesn't give
up easily, and has proved to be the hero in the end more
than once. He loves maps and globes, and knows all sorts
of stuff
Jack Quacker is his very best pal, but it's Suzy who
understands his tender side.
GRANDMA GUSSIE is the grandmother anybody would
want as thier own. She lives alone at Goose Downs up on
Windy Hill and raises her own vegetables. She's thrifty
and resourceful and tends to save everything...."just in
case". She has curiosities in her garden shed from all over
the world. Grandma Gussie is just as likely to be seen in a
frilly dress and flowered hat as muddy Wellingtons with a
saw in her hand.
She's Suzy's grandma, but Suzy shares her with
everybody.
HUGO BEAR is often called upon to get the kids out of a
jam, but he would rather be fishing. He is the occasional
caretaker for Grandma Gussie, and best friend to Stanley.
Awkward and well-intentioned, STANLEY GIRAFFE lives
in the lighthouse. He gives very detailed weather reports
to anyone who will listen. He involves Hugo in games of
chess on long rainy afternoons.
OLLIE MARMOT, JR. knows every tunnel under Duckport
and has burrowed quite a few secret ones himself. He
thinks he is tough but the girls think he is cute. This
drives him crazy.
EMILY MARMOT is Suzy's best girl friend and Ollie's
twin. She would rather have a tea party with all the frills,
but Suzy talks her into joining their adventures. Emily
does, as long as she can bring the refreshments.
This is Suzy Ducken's cousin DELBERT JOHN DUCKEN,
JR., but best not call him that within earshot. He is D.J. to
his friends and rock music is his thing. While gawky and
awkward to some, his pals know he is no nerd. This is one
brainy math wizard - make no mistake!
This is SALLY DUCKEN. Suzy's older sister is
adventuresome, bold, bright, a risk-taker, and keeps her
parents on their toes. She's also a thinker and a dreamer.
She has a secret place she calls Galley West where she
goes to read and dream Big Thoughts
TILLAMOOK MOUSE is Suzy Ducken and Emily Marmot's
very good friend. She loves acrobatics and dance and is
always urging her friends along to her classes and recitals.
She wants to be a ballerina and works very hard at it. You
should see her leap!
CORNELIA PLUME is a flamboyant bachelorette ostrich
who teaches girl's gym at the Duckport School. She always
means well and is fond of giving advise, especially in
matters of the heart, even when not asked. She's a bit on
the ditsy side, but makes a great role model for the less
athletic types in her classes since she's not the most
graceful bird in town.
KIRBY HARRINGTON is a big, lovable English Sheepdog
who gives big shaggy wet kisses to only the very luckiest.
He is the offical tail wagger of Duckport and loyal friend
to all. Kirby lives with Hugo down near the river's edge.
He's not a pet as we know pets, rather he is a free citizen
who simply does not speak Duckportian
DOTTIE DACHSHUND is the unofficial floor cleaner and
food picker-upper at Le Bistro and at all the bakery and
ice cream wagons around town. Dottie uses the sugar rush
she gets to make the record-breaking, double aerial flip
that has made her a winner of every Frisbee contest for
the past five years.
GILBERT O'SULLIVAN is the proprietor of the Copper
Pig Antique Shop in downtown Duckport. He is really quite
a cultured fellow. He loves opera and classical music, which
he plays for his customers on an old phonograph in his
shop. He is an accomplished Irish tenor, and you wouldn't
be too surprised to know that he especially loves songs by
composers Gilbert and Sullivan!

WITZY-has just hatched in Duckport! The Quacker family is blessed again and this sweet, yellow baby is making everyone in Duckport happy!
