This zone is called Emerald Hill Zone in the final version and have only 1 little difference. See the enemy in the pics. This kind of enemy have never be seen in the final version of Sonic 2.
I'd like to see that zone in the final Sonic 2. There are no items, no enemies, and no end. You get stuck only some seconds after the level have started. If you are using debug you can go up and find another place but it's unfinished too. If you want to know what the heck is the second pic, it's Wood Zone Act 2. You fall until you reach the bottom and die.
In this zone, I think Act 1 & 2 are same as in the final except that these kind of bouncers do not shoot you high enough and you can walk on the lava. In the 3rd Act, you can see some weird moving platforms that aren't in the final game and is following Sonic.
He have nothing to say about that zone. I think it's similar to the final except for only some places in the zone.
I think that zone is the COOLEST one I have never seen. I'd like SEGA to keep that zone completely in the game. Also, why is the face of Tails on th 1up box? Look at the second pic. It's the 2nd Act of hidden palace. if you use debug you'll see that's same as Act 1 but without rings, Item Box, and ennemies. Only the background and the floors are there.
That zone is very similar to the final one. the only differences I see is that elevators are smaller and what you see on the first screenshot.
Dust Hill or Mystic Cave Zone? Well, this is Mystic Cave Zone in the final Sonic 2 but in the beta we know it's called Dust Hill Zone. The beginning of the 1st Act is veru different from the one in the final. In the middle of the level will get stuck in a big pit unfortunately. In the 2nd Act, unfortunately, you get stuck in a pit at beginning of the act.
WOW! I think the graphics in that one are cooler than the one in the final version of Casino Night Zone. This level is incomplete and you just hvae a giant hole when ¼ of any Act is done.
This zone is very very very similar to the final and it's one of the only zone that have an end. Also, this zone have no badniks.
Well, I have not much to say about that zone. You just fall and fall again until you die. Maybe it's why they called it "Genocide City". For those of you who don't know Genocide means "mass killing".
Well, in the final Sonic 2 this is called Aquatic Ruin. This zone also have an end. There's minor difference with the final. You can't go under water.
Once again, you just fall and fall again until you reach the bottom and die. In that version, Death Egg have two acts but they are both unplayable.
The special stage are not implented in the BETA version of Sonic 2.
