SKANKIN' PICKLE
You are listening to I'm turning japanese by skankin pickle
--Out of Southern Clifornia came the biggest bunch of traveling freaks under the guise of Skankin'
Pickle. Through constant traveling and self-promotion, Skankin' Pickle became one of the top selling
independent ska bands in the country. They formed Dill Records to release their own material and
that of such unknown acts as Less Than Jake, the Rudiments, and Slapstick back in the day. The
constant national exposure proved to be too much and Skankin' Pickle disbanded. some members
have gone on to join Less Than Jake, MU330, and The B. Lee Band.
--The music of Skankin' Pickle can be summed up in one word: indescribeable. They touch bases of
punk, traditional ska, funk, jazz, and their own brand of wacky fun ska. It all comes together for one
hell of a great sound. The songs sung in Korean really capture the essence of the band as most are
fast and fun, even if you can't understand them.
--The Pickles have released four studio albums and one live disc. With too many good things to say
about the band and their records I will just say check them all out for a different feel, the live cd
contains some of their best songs and is a must have. Check out songs like: "Hate," "Fakin'
Jamaican," and "Hussein Skank."
