BEHIND THE LINES
This strategy is best used in a Recon mission. Take one or two starmates with you and put them in heavy mechs. Assign yourself a light mech (Fire Moth or Cicada work best). Send your starmate(s) after the enemy mechs and when the battle starts run over to the objective and inspect or destroy it. Then run back to the dustoff site.
DUMBASS LEAD
Assign one of your starmates a heavily armored mech with medium speed. Make sure you and your other starmate are well hidden and shut down. Order your hapless starmate to engage one of the enemy mechs. As soon as you hear gunfire, have your starmate join formation. the enemy mech should chase him. When the enemy mech gets close enough, start up you and your other starmates mech and attack. Repeat as necessary.
RAIN 'O DEATH
There are two ways to do this maneuver. The first is to jump jet onto a building or mesa that is close to the objective. You must be in a mech with Arrow IVs or LRMs (a Catapult or a modified Naga work best). Get a lock on an enemy mech and let fly with your missles (Note: this stratagy works well on the first Oberon Confederation and the I.S. Bank level). The second way to do this is to put any jump capable mechs onto a building or mountain, have a starmate lead an enemy mech over and jump off the building while shooting.
CAGE 'O DEATH
This stratagy is very tricky to execute and it helps to know the level well before trying to use it. If you know where an enemy or a group of enemys is, than tell your starmates to flee (this takes a lot of practice but it helps if your mech is turned in the right direction). Attack the enemy head-on and while you are fighting tell your starmates to attack the enemy mech(s). Make sure that you starmates are not to far away (tell them to shut down at about 500 meters) or they won't get there in time and you will be screwed.
HILL AMBUSH
If your 'mech has jump jets and you are in an area with some hills, back yourself close to a hill, with the enemy following you, jump over the hill. Now when the enemy 'mech reaches the top of the hill, let loose with everything and run away. Once your heat is dissipated, fight however you want, if you are in a heavy or assault 'mech, this can be the deciding blow against your enemy.

Mech Killing

Turrets- Shoot off both the guns, then finish off the rest of the turret.

Elementals- PPCs, Streak SRMs, and Flamers will rip those annoying little bastards apart.

Kitfox, Firemoth- A Streak SRM-6 will most likely hurt him them a lot, but you can use LRM-20's to just about destroy them all the time.

Jenner- Blow away the two arms first. They do have an SRM-4, but thats nothing. For the quick kill go straight for the cockpit with missles or large lasers.

Nova- Try to get them with LRM's at a distance. They tend to take a substantial amount of damage from one LRM-20 hit.

Stormcrow- Shoot off one of the legs, then get the other. You can also blow out the cockpit if your aim is good.

Mad Dog- Shoot off both his arms and he will run like a scared jack rabbit.

Hellbringer- Just shoot at his huge torso and he will die in an internal ammo explosion.

Summoner- Take off his large PPC arm, and if he hasn't used up all of his autocannon ammo take off that arm too. He will then be screwed.

Rifleman- This mech is also a very hard Mech. You should always go for his arms first and blow them off quick or else he will destroy you.

Timberwolf- Shooting off his arms will make him run, exposing his tender back armor.

Gargoyle- He may seem hard but he is slow and his arm's are his weak spot so use that to your advantage.

Marauder- Shoot off one leg, then the other.

Warhawk- This Mech is almost like the Dire Wolf but a little smaller and faster so run around it in circles until you have blown off one leg, then get behind it and blow off the other.

Dire Wolf- Run circles around it until you've blown off one leg, then get behind it and blow off the other leg or shoot for his cockpit.

Cyclops- blow out his cockpit.

Atlas- blow off a leg, they are the weakest part of him. Or shoot at his chest and get him in an internal ammo explosion.

Commando- just shoot at him until he dies. Commandos have weak armor.

Mongoose- just shoot at its legs, they are large, weak targets.

Javelin- shoot at his chest and he will either just die or get caught in an ammo cookoff.

Jenner- blow out his cockpit.

Panther- blow off the big arm,or both and let him have it.

Clint- blow off his arms.

Assassin- use group fire on him his armor is weak.

Awesome- there is not much you can do about him, but blowing off the arms will help.

Victor- De-arm the victor it will shoot one or two SRM shots at you then it will run away.

Zeus- This mech is decent but weak for an 80 ton mech-shoot off the arms and toast him.

Vindicator- Shoot off his legs.

Crab- Shoot for the torso, it has weak armor.

Hunchback- Try to shoot at the torso the autocannon is in so you can destroy it.

Trebuchet- Blow off his arms, in a minute he will run away.

Centurion- Take the right arm off, and try to stay close to him so he can't shoot his LRM's

Dragon- Toast the right arm to make him easier to destroy.

Catapault- Shoot out his huge cockpit.

Jagermech- Shoot out the cockpit or shoot off his arms and wup his ass.

Bombardier- Shoot at his missle launchers and his ammo will cookoff.

Flashman-Blow off both arms and stay 100 meters away from him so he can't use his flamer on you.

Orion- Shoot at the cockpit. You will either shoot it out or get him in an internal ammo explosion.
