I fixed a couple typos and added a little info at the end about my new e-mail address and my WWW pages/FTP site. ------------------------------------------------------------------------- T H E C H A R A C T E R S =============================== Cecil Designation: Dark Knight -----> Paladin Magic : none -----> 6 white magic spells Special : none -----> Cover Cecil starts the game as a Dark Knight. He has no special abilities so he should do a lot of fighting. Later in the game he will pass a test at Mt. Ordeals to become a Paladin. He still should do a lot of fighting, but now he can also cast a few low level white magic spells. He also has the special ability Cover, which, when used on another party member, will allow Cecil to take all the hits normally aimed at the covered person. Kain Designation: Dragoon Magic : none Special : Jump Kain will begin the game with Cecil. He is not himself most of the game, so he'll be against Cecil and his friends through out the game. His special ability is Jump, which allows Kain to jump of the screen and come down on an enemy for great damage. While in the air, Kain is immune to enemy attacks. Rydia Designation: Caller Magic : White & Black (as a young girl) ----> Black (as an adult) Special : Call Rydia starts as a little girl. She is rescued by Cecil after the Package that he was carrying destroyed Rydia's home village. As a young girl, Rydia has the ability to cast both White and Black magic. Later in the game she'll have grown up and will only be able to use Black magic. Her special ability, Call, is used to summon monsters to aid her in battle. Tellah Designation: Sage Magic : White & Black Special : none Because of old age, Tellah has forgotten many of the most powerful spells he used to know when he was younger. He is still a good magic user, however. Later in the game he will remember all of his spells, including the most powerful Black magic: Meteo (although he won't be able to cast it because he won't have enough MPS). He'll cast Meteo on his own in his final showdown with Golbez. Edward Designation: Bard Magic : none Special : Sing, Hide Edward joins the party after his beloved Anna, who is also Tellah's daughter, dies. Edward has the ability to Sing and to Hide. If Edward Sings he can cause the enemy to aquire different ailments (sleep, poison, etc.). Edward can Hide also. This allows him to get out of harms way by hiding off the screen. He can't do anything except come back from hiding when he is off the screen. He'll hide automatically when his HPS are low. Rosa Designation: Wh. Wiz Magic : White Special : Aim Rosa is a powerful White Wizard. During the game she'll be able to learn all the White magic spells. If Rosa is equipped with a bow and arrow, she can use her special ability, Aim, which raises the hit rate of that attack to 100%. Yang Designation: Karate Magic : none Special : Kick Yang is a powerful Karate master who fights with his hands. To increase his attack strength he can equip claws. He can use his specail attack (Kick) to do damage to all the enemies on the screen. Palom Designation: Bl. Wiz Magic : Black Special : Twin Palom, along with his twin sister Porom, were sent by the elder of Mysidia to assist Cecil in his quest to become a Paladin. Palom can use Black magic. He can also combine his powers with Porom to cast Twin magic, which is very powerful. Porom Designation: Wh. Wiz Magic : White Special : Twin Porom is much more mature than her twin brother Palom. She can use White magic, and can also combine her powers with Palom to cast Twin magic. Cid Designation: Chief Magic : none Special : Peep Cid is the chief engineer at Baron and maker of the airships. He is a powerful fighter. His special ability is Peep, which works just like the spell. Edge Designation: Ninja Magic : Ninja Special : Dart & Sneak Edge is a extremely useful character. He can attack in battle using both hands. He can use Ninja magic. He can steal from enemies using his special Sneak command. And he can throw any weapon at an enemy using his special Dart command. FuSoYa Designation: Lunar Magic : White & Black Special : none FuSoYa will join Cecil's party when they visit the moon. Although he has no special abilities, he can cast all White and Black magic spells, making him a valuable ally. --------------------------------------------------------------------------- W A L K T H R U ======================= The story begins with Cecil the Dark Knight and the Red Wings going to Mysidia to get the Crystal of Water for the King of Baron. The wizards there don't put up any fight and the crystal is easily taken. On the way back to Baron, the squadron is attacked by monsters. Cecil easily dispatches them, and the squadron finishes its journey to Baron. In Baron, Baigan, the king's aid, meets Cecil and takes him to the throne room. Cecil gives the king the crystal. Since he seems to be developing a rebellious air, Cecil is given a packeage and told to take it to the village Mist. The Dragoon, Kain, enters and is told to go with Cecil on this quest. kain tells Cecil to go to his room to rest for the night. You now have control of Cecil. BARON Items: 300 GP, Cure1, Tent Party: Cecil Joins: Kain Start by going south. In this room you should see 3 chests. Go over to where they are and press the switch on the wall to get into the room and get them. From there go up the stairs on the left side of the room. After going down the stairs on the other side of the little walkway you're on, Rosa will come out and ask to meet Cecil later. Once she leaves go south and then north to where you'll be introduced to Cid. Next go in the door on the left side. Take the stairs all the way up and go to bed. During the night, Rosa comes up to Cecil's room and they talk a bit. In the morning, Cecil goes back down stairs and joins Kain. Together they exit the castle. Once outside, enter the town that is around the castle. TOWN OF BARON Items: Cure1 (x4), Heal, Tent (x4) Party: Cecil, Kain As you enter, the building straight up is the training center. Training Center: here you can learn some of the basics. By talking to Namingway (the guy on the left side of the 1st floor) you can change the names of the characters in your current party. Item Shop: Cure1 = 30 GP Carrot = 50 GP Life = 150 GP Heal = 100 GP Tent = 200 GP Ether1 = 10000 GP Serpent Road: using this you can travel directly to Mysidia. Right now it is sealed on Mysidia's end so it can't be used. Inn: 50 GP Search the crossed sword to get the 3 chests. Search a pot inside the inn to find a Cure1. Search the pot outside the inn to find another Cure1. Rosa's house: the house to the north of the Inn is Rosa's house. Search a pot inside for a Tent. Search a pot outside for a Cure1. Cid's house: the house in the top left corner of the town in Cid's Once you've visited everywhere (the weapons/armor shop is locked and so the underpass to the castle) enter the water and go down to the bottom right corner of the town to find two Tents hidden in the little pond. Now that you're ready, exit the town and go northwest to a cave. (There is a Chocobo town to the souwest of the desert if you'd rather ride than walk). MISTY CAVE Items: Cure1 (x2), Heal, Tent Party: Cecil, Kain Boss: D. Mist As you enter, go right until you reach some stairs. Go up the stairs and then to the left until you reach another set of stairs going up. Keep going up until you find a treasure chest. Take the contents of the chest and then cross the bridge you can see to your right. Go up the stairs you come to and then go to the right for another chest. Next, return to the stairs and go down as far as you can. From there, go left and up to another chest. Now go back to the spot where there are stairs above and below you. Go right and get another chest. Finally, go staight up. As you are about to exit the cave you'll be attacked by D. Mist, the dragon of Mist. After defeating it, exit the cave. Outside the cave go right and you'll find Village Mist. VILLAGE MIST Party: Cecil Leaves: Kain As you enter, the PACKAGE opens automatically, releasing fire creatures that burn the village. You'll then hear a little girl crying over her fallen mother. It seems that the mist dragon you killed was called by this girl's mom, and when you kill it, she died too. You can't leave the girl here in the burning village, but she doesn't want to go with you. A battle ensues where the girl calls a Titan. The Titan causes an earthquake. After the earthquake is over Cecil and the girl find themselves on the other side of Mist, Kain is nowhere to be found, and the way back to Mist is blocked. Cecil picks up the girl and you are back in control. Head north to a desert, then east and a little north to a town near an oasis. KAIPO Item: Ether1 Party: Cecil Joins: Rydia (young girl) As you enter, Cecil will take the girl to the Inn to rest. In the middle of the night, Cecil will be attacked by and Officer and 3 Soldiers. After defeating them, the girl will tell you her name is Rydia and will then join your party. In the morning explore the town. Inn: 50 GP Inside the Inn you'll also find an Item Shop. They sell the same items as the Baron shop and at the same prices. Armor Shop: located to the left of the Inn Cap = 100 GP Leather Armor = 200 GP Cloth Clothes = 50 GP IronRing = 100 GP Training Center: house in the bottom left corner of town Weapon Shop: building in the bottom right corner of town Rod = 100 GP Short Bow = 220 GP Staff = 160 GP Iron Arrow = 10 GP House: in top right corner of town Here you'll find out Rosa followed you and has become sick. The only way to save her is to get the SandRuby from the Antlion. Exit the town and head northeast. Here you should find a cave. WATERY PASS - SOUTH Items: Cure1 (x4), Heal (x2), Tent, 120 GP, IronRing, Ether1 (x3), IceRod, 200 GP, Leather Helm, Darkness Sword Party: Cecil, Rydia Joins: Tellah As you enter, go up for a couple chests, then return to the entrance and go left. After crossing a bridge, go down and get the Tent from the chest. Then go up and talk to the old man. He says he is Tellah and joins your party. Continue going up a few steps, then go across the bridge to your right. Get the chest and then keep going right until you reach stairs that lead down into the water. Once in the water go north to a chest, then exit the water again and go back to where Tellah joined. From there go up to the stairs that lead down to the next floor of the cave. --B2F-- Go up and then down into the water. A little to the left is stairs leading out of the water and to a chest. Get the chest then go back down into the water. Continue down as far as you can. Once again exit the water. Go left to get a chest, then cross the bridge leading down. Follow the path to the left and enter the door you reach. Inside is a save spot. When finished here go up and out of the little room. Go across the bridge and up to get another chest, then go down in to the water. Once in the water go right and exit the water again. Enter the door that is a little bit up from the water to get to the next floor. --B3F-- When you reach a spot with a bridge leading both right and left, take the one to the right first to get 2 chests, then return and go left. Following that path will take you to another door which leads back up a floor. --B2F-- First go left. It appears to be a dead end but if you look carefully (or turn the brightness on your T.V. up high) you'll see that there is a secret passage there. Follow the passage around to get a Leather Helm from a chest. Now go back into the hidden passage. This time come out right next to the stairs leading to another floor. Get the chest, then take the stairs up to the next floor. --WATERY PASS - NORTH-- Go up and then down the stairs to get two chests, then go back up the stairs and head right. Eventually you'll reach another stairway, which leads outside. Before exiting, go down to get 2 more chests. Once outside, go northwest and enter the cave. WATERFALLS Items: Darkness Helm, Darkness Gauntlet, Darkness Armor, Ether1 Party: Cecil, Rydia, Tellah Boss: Octomamm Enter the water and the current will pull you down. Once you land, exit the water by going up the stairs to your right. Follow the path down and around to a door, collecting both treasure chests along the way. --LAKE-- Go right, get 2 more chests, and then go up and down again into the water. Now go up to fight Octomamm. Once you defeat it, continue up into the waterfall. This will take you outside. From here go west and then north to a desert. As you reach the desert, the Red Wings will fly by and bomb the castle. Enter what's left of the castle. DAMCYAN Items: Tent, RubyRing, Leather Helm, CrossBow, Cure1 (x2), 300 GP, 200 GP, Life, Ether1, 10 White Arrows (x2), 10 Iron Arrows Party: Cecil, Rydia Leaves: Tellah Joins: Edward Go straight up and enter the door. Continue going up the stairs. One room will be full of treasure chests, but only one is unlooted. Get it and then continue up the stairs. On the 3rd floor you'll find Anna, Tellah's daughter. Edward the Bard will come out, and he and Tellah will fight until Anna tells them to stop. Anna dies, Edward joins your party, and Tellah leaves. You'll also get the HOVERCRAFT. On the left side of the room where Anna died is a pot that recovers HPS and status. The pot on the right side recover MPS. Before continuing, go outside the castle. Re-enter it and take one step down, then go right along the outside of the castle to a door leading to the castle's basement. Talk to the guard, then press the switch. Enter the door that opens and then go left, thru the wall into the jail cell. You can get the 3 chests by going through the walls between the cells. Next go down the stairs in the bottom corner of the room to get 6 more chests. Also search the pots for 2 sets of 10 White Arrows and a set of 10 Iron Arrows. Now exit the castle, board the Hovercraft, and go northeast. Use the hovercraft to get across the rocks in the water. Once across go southwest to the Antlion's cave. ANTLION B1F Items: 190 GP, Cure1 (x3), 210 GP, Tent (x2), Life (x2), Charm Harp, Ether1, Heal, 250 GP, SandRuby Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edward Boss: Antlion First go left to get a chest. Then go down some stairs and up to another chest. From there go right, up a small staircase, across a bridge, and finally up to another chest with 210 GP in it. From that chest go down. When you've gone down some stairs you should see stairs leading to the next floor. Before going down them, go left and then up as soon as you can for chest. Then go back down and to the left. Go left as far as you can then go down and around to 2 more chests. After getting the chest return to the right and go down the stairs leading to the next floor. --B2F-- Go down until you reach a chest. Get the chest and then go over to the door to your left. Inside you'll find a chest containing a weapon for Edward. Get it, then exit the room. Go left and then up where you'll find a stairway leading back up a floor. Go up those stairs and enter the door you find. Inside is a save spot and 3 chests. Once finished, exit the room and go back down a floor. When you're back on the 2nd floor go left, up, and back right to a chest. Next, go left to another chest, and finally go down to the stairs leading to the next floor. --ANTLION'S NEST-- Head straight down to the center of the nest. Here you'll be attacked by the Antlion. After defeating it you'll get the SandRuby. Make your way back out of the cave (using WARP a few times is the quickest), the board the Hovercraft and head back west to Damcyan. From there continue west. Here you'll find more rocks that the Hovercraft can cross. Once across them go southeast to Kaipo. KAIPO Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edward Joins: Rosa Go to the house in the top right corner of the town. Talk to Rosa and use the SandRuby when your list of items pops up. Rosa joins your party, which decides to spend the night here. In the middle of the night, Edward goes out to the lake where he is attacked by a WaterHag. The ghost of Anna appears to give Edward confidence during his fight. In the morning, exit Kaipo. Board the Hovercraft and go back the way you came to get back to Damcyan. From there go nrotheast over the rocks like you did before to get to the Antlion's den. Now instead of going left to get to the den, go right to get to Mt. Hobs. MT. HOBS - WEST Items: Tent, Cure1, Heal, 350 GP, 10 White Arrows Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edward, Rosa Joins: Yang Boss: MomBomb As you enter, Rydis will have to learn Fire1 in order to get part the ice that blocks the path. Although she hates fire, she overcomes her fears and melts the ice. Once the ice is gone, go up the mountain and enter the first door you come to. Through this door you'll find 4 chests and a save spot. After getting the treasure go back out through the door and go right to another door. --SUMMIT-- Go right and get the chest, then go up where you'll meet Yang, who is in a little bit of trouble. Yang take out a few Imp Captains and then is attacked by MomBomb. This is where your party joins the battle. After defeating the creature, enter the door. --MT. HOBS - EAST-- Go right across the bridge. Then go down the mountain and exit at the bottom. Now you must journey far to the east to reach Fabul. FABUL Items: Cure1 (x4), Heal, Tent (x2), 500 GP, Ether1, Black Shield, Black Shield Party: Cecil, Edward, Yang Leaves: Rosa, Rydia Joins: Rydia The first thing you might want to do is visit the shops and Inn which you'll find by going straight up from the entrance. Inn: 100 GP The Item Shop is in the Inn and carries the same items as the previous stores, at the same prices. Weapon/Armor Shop: FireClaw = 350 GP Black Helm = 980 GP IceClaw = 450 GP Black Armor = 3000 GP ThunderClaw = 550 GP Black Gauntlet = 800 GP Once you're ready continue, go up, further into the castle. In the next room you'll be able to see an obvious stairway going up, but if you go to the bottom of the room you'll find a door which leads out to the top of the castle. To each side of you is a door. First enter the one on the left. In this tower you'll find 3 chests in the first part, along with a Cure1 in one of the pots, Namingway in the 2nd part, and Yang's wife at the top. Now go back down and enter the right tower. On the 2nd floor of this tower you'll find 500 GP in a pot, and on the 3rd floor you'll find a chest. This floor is the king's bedroom. You can sleep in the king's bed if you want (it's better than having to pay for a bed in the Inn). Now go back down and go back into the castle. This time take the stairs at the top of the room. This leads to the throne room. After telling the king of the upcoming attack, the part breaks up to defend the castle. Rosa and Rydia will leave the main party so they can stay to heal the wounded, while the other 3 go out to fight. After 6 cosequetive battles, the trio is forced behind the throne room, into the room where the crystal is held. Here Kain enters. Cecil is forced to fight him. When Cecil's HPS are low the battle will end. Now Rosa and Rydia will enter and then Golbez will come in. Kain will grab the crystal and Golbez wil grab Rosa, then they both leave. Things don't look good for the home team. Go back down into the throne room. There is a Cure1 in the pot on the left side of the room and a switch on the right side. Step on the switch to open a hidden door. Enter the door and follow the hidden path to the right where you'll find 3 chests. Get the chests and return. The guy next to the throne says the king is in his room. Before going up to his room, rest in the Inn (the Innkeeper won't charge you anything). At the Inn, the remaining 4 members of your party will make a plan to rescue Rosa. After resting in the Inn, you'll automatically be in the king's room. The king agrees to give you a ship and also gives Cecil a Black Sword. Exit the castle. To the east you should find the ship that the king promised. THE OCEAN VOYAGE Party: Cecil Leaves: Edward, Yang, Rydia Before entering the ship you may want to de-equip everyone except Cecil (you can sell all the stuff the others were using), because Cecil will be the only one left by the end of the trip. Once you're ready, board the ship. A ways into your voyage, the Master of the Seas, Leviatan, will attack the ship. Rydia will be knocked overboard and Yang will jump in after her. Then the ship will be sucked into the whirlpool. Next thing you know, Cecil is awakening on a beach, all alone. Go east and you'll find the town of Mysidia. MYSIDIA Party: Cecil Joins: Palom, Porom First visit the shops and the Inn. Item shop: Cure1 30 GP Cabin 1000 GP Cure2 150 GP Heal 100 GP Life 150 GP Ether1 10000 GP Tent 200 GP Inn: being next to item shop Cost = 200 GP The guy behind the counter will poison you and the dancer will put you to sleep, take you out behind the item shop, plus turn you into a pig. Weapon shop: building to left of the entrance of town Ice Rod 220 GP CrossBow 700 GP FlameRod 380 GP White Arrows 20 GP Cure Staff 480 GP Armor shop: building to the left of the entrance Gaea Helm 700 GP Paladin Helm 4000 GP Gaea Clothes 500 GP Paladin Armor 8000 GP Silver Ring 650 GP Paladin Gloves 3000 GP Paladin Shield 700 GP Training room: building to the left of Armor/Weapon shop. Once finished, enter the big building at the top of the town. Inside, talk to the Elder. He will send you on a quest to become a Paladin. Palom and Porom will join you to help out. After equipping the twins with some decent stuff, exit Mysidia and go east to Mt. Ordeals. It's a long journey so be prepared. MT. ORDEALS Items: Cure1 (x2), Ether1 (x2), Legend Sword Party: Cecil, Palom, Porom Joins: Tellah Boss: Milon, Milon Z, D.Knight The first obstacle you'll encounter is a wall of fire. Palom makes easy work out of it with an ice spell. After the wall is gone you'll get to see what is happening with Golbez, Kain, and Rosa. When you regain control, start climbing the mountain collecting the 2 chests along the way. Enter the door that you come to. --MT. ORDEALS - 3RD STATION-- Climb a little further and you'll find another door. Tellah will come out of the door and join your party. Enter the door that Tellah came out of. --MT. ORDEALS - 7TH STATION-- First go all the way to the left to get a chest, then return right and climb up some more. This will lead to another chest and another door. --SUMMIT-- First thing you should do is make use of the save spot, then continue upwards. When you reach the bridge you'll be attacked by Milon, the Fiend of Earth, along with 4 Ghasts. After defeating them it may be a good idea to return to the save spot to save and heal, then cross the bridge. On the other side you'll be attacked by Milon's true form - Milon Z. After defeating him, enter the shrine to your left. Inside Cecil will be turned into a Paladin and must defeat his past self - the Dark Knight. After the battle, Tellah will remember all the spells he had forgotten and will learn Meteo. With your new found powers, travel back down the mountain and return west to Mysidia. MYSIDIA Party: Cecil, Porom, Palom, Tellah Return to the Elder and talk with him. He unlocks the Serpent Road for you so now you can get to Baron. Enter the building above the item shop and enter the white circle. This will take you to Baron. TOWN OF BARON Items: Baron Key, ThunderClaw, 2000 GP, 1000 GP Party: Cecil, Porom, Palom, Tellah Joins: Yang Boss: Karate Talk to the people of Baron to learn that Cid has been arrested and a Karate Man is in the Inn. Go to the Inn and talk to Yang, the Karate Man. He'll have the Guards attack you. After defeating them, Yang will attack you himself. Defeat him and he'll remember who is is and who you are, and then he'll join your party. Yang will realize he has the Key of Baron which can be used to unlock a couple of the doors in Baron. First use the key to enter the Weapon/Armor shop. Thunder Rod 700 GP Headband 450 GP Cure Staff 480 GP Karate Clothes 4000 GP FireClaw 350 GP Silver Ring 650 GP IceClaw 450 GP ThunderClaw 550 GP After shopping, stay in the shop and go all the way to the right wall, then go down. There should be a path that leads around to the back of th store. Here you can get 2 chests. Now exit the sop and unlock the door that is on the left side of town. Once through the door take one step forward, then go right to get to another chest. Now go down the stairs. OLD WATER-WAY Items: Cure2, Ether1 (x2), Life (x3), 500 GP, Ancient Sword Party: Cecil, Porom, Palom, Tellah, Yang The first section is pretty straight forward. When you reach the stairs leading to the next floor, take them and continue. --B3F-- Here is another spot you may want to turn the brightness up on your T.V. so you can easily see the hidden paths. First take the path to the right. Keep going right to reach a chest with Life in it that is sitting on a small island. From there enter the hidden path and go left. Keep going to reach another chest. Continue left for another chest. Now return all the way to the right and use the stairs leading to the next level. --B2F-- Just before more stairs to another level, go to the left through a hidden path to get a chest. Then use the stairs. --B1F-- Enter the door to the left. Inside is a save spot and a hidden path that leads to a chest. Exit the room, go to the right, then climb up to the stairs leading to the back of Baron Castle. BARON Party: Cecil, Tellah, Yang Leaves: Palom, Porom Joins: Cid Boss: Baigan, Kainazzo Go left and around to the front of the castle where you'll find an entrance into the castle itself. If you need to get healed, go up to Cecil's room, which is at the top of the tower that is straight up from your current location, and sleep in the bed. Next, enter the bottom right door which leads to the throne room. After a bit, you'll run into Baigan, the king's aid. He'll pretend to join your party but the twins will make him reveal his true self, which you have to fight. After defeating Baigan, go up as far as you can to get to the throne room. Talk to the king and he'll reveal that he is really Kainazzo, the Fiend of Water. After defeating it, Cid will come out. He'll leads you out of the throne room and start to go to the Airship. In the next room, however, Kainazzo will make the walls start to move in on you. Palom and Porom sacrifice themselves to stop the walls. Once again you get to see what Golbez and company are up to. When it switches back to your party, Cid will finish leading to the Airship. As the Enterprise raises into the sky, another airship will approach. Kain will come off it and tell Cecil and the others of the ransome demands: the Crystal of Earth for Rosa. You now must go to Toroia, which is northwest from where you are. TOWN OF TOROIA Items: 1000 GP, Ether2, Cure2, Ether1 Party: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid First you may want to do some shopping. Downstairs you can walk through the right wall to get around and into the chocobo pen. Cafe: building above and to the right of the Item shop For 10000 GP you can buy a Pass, which will allow you to enter the Saloon. Inside you get to watch a bunch of dancing girls. Cute, but not really worth 10000 GP. Next, enter the pond and follow the river to the top of town. Here you can go through some bushes to get to a clearing. There are 4 treasures hidden in the deep grass. Now exit the town and enter the castle. TOROIAN CASTLE Items: TwinHarp, Tent (x2), Cure2 (x2), Ether1 (x3), Ruby Ring (x2) Party: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid Go straight forward into the castle and talk to the 8 clerics. They say the Dark Elf took the crystal that you seek. In the room below the clerics' room, enter the door to the left. This will lead to the room where Edward is resting. He gives you the TwinHarp. Now return to the room below the clerics' room and enter the door on the right. This leads to a room with 3 sets of stairs. Enter the one on the right and collect the 8 chests. Next enter the middle one to find an Ether1 in a pot. Finally, enter the left one. The guard here won't let you through without the clerics' permission, so exit the castle. To get to the Dark Elf's cave, you'll need a Black Chocobo, so walk north to find a Chocobo's Village. Grab a Black Chocobo and fly east where you'll find a cave. Land the chocobo. Before entering the cave make sure to unequip metallic items from as many characters as possible without making them too weak defensively (metallic items include rings). CAVE MAGNES Items: Cure2 (x2), Heal, Ether1 (x2), 500 GP, Life, Cure3, CharmClaw, Ether2, Earth Crystal Party: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid Boss: Dark Elf First go all the way to the right side of the bridge to get a chest, then go back and down when you can. This path will take you to another chest and the stairs to the next floor. --B2F-- Go up and to the left for a chest, then continue up. Enter the door to the right to find two more chests. Next, go left and then go down the stairs to the next floor. --B3F-- Enter the door to the left to find a save spot. Next, go down to another door. Inside this one is 3 chests. From there go left and then up through the archway to get to another door. Enter the door and go up for a chest, then go left and down the stairs. --B4F-- Go left and up to where you'll find a door. Before entering it go around and to the left to get the chest. Through the door you'll find the Dark Elf. The first try at defeating him will result in a lose. Then Edward, back in Toroia, will play his harp which will make the TwinHarp play. This causes the magnetic field to drop. Re-equip anything metallic that you want and then fight the Dark Elf. After defeating him go up and get the Crystal of Earth. Exit the crystal room and cast EXIT to make a quick escape. Climb onto the Black Chocobo, which will automatically take you back to its village. Grab another Chocobo (black or yellow) and fly (or run) it south to Toroian Castle (or you can just walk). TOROIAN CASTLE Items: Cure2 (x2), Heal (x2), Ether1 (x2), Ether2 (x2), Elixir (x2), 1000 GP (x2), Great Bow, 10 Fire Arrows (x2), 10 Lit Arrows, 10 Ice Arrows (x2) Party: Cecil, Tellah, Yang, Cid Go staight forward as you enter, all the way back to the clerics' room. Kain's voice will say to bing the crystal out to your airship. Before going out, talk to the 8 clerics. One will say that you can have the treasures that are in the basement. Exit the clerics' room and then enter the door on the right. When you reach the 3 stairways, take the one on the left. You can now tell the guard that you have the clerics' permission. Enter the secret door and go down the stairs to find 18 chests. Once you've gotten the treasure go talk to Edward in the Nursing room for a little story. Now exit the castle and board your airship. Kain will tell you to follow his airship. You'll autmatically follow his airship up into a tower in the sky. TOWER OF ZOT Items: Fire Armor, Fire Sword, Poison Claw, Fire Shield, Earth Wrench, Wizard Clothes Party: Cecil, Yang, Cid Leaves: Tellah Joins: Kain, Rosa Boss: Magus Sisters, Valvalis First off, go left and follow that path to a chest. From there go right to find the door taking you up to the 2nd floor. --2F-- Go down as far as possible (all the way to the bottom-most wall of the room). Then go left and up. This will lead to a treasure chest (which contains a Flame Dog and a Fire Sword) and the door taking you up to the 3rd floor. --3F-- Go down to the bottom-most wall again and follow that wall around to the top of the room where you'll find the door to the next floor. --4F-- Follow the path until you reach a spot where you can go up. Here you'll find 3 doors. There left door leads to 2 chests. The middle and right doors each lead to a chest. Now go back down to the bottom wall and follow it to the right. This will lead to the door to the next floor. --5F-- A little ways along the path is a door. Enter to find a save spot. A little past that you'll find another door. While approaching the door, you'll be attacked by Sandy, Cindy, and Mindy - the Magus Sisters. Defeat them, then enter the door (actually, it may be a good idea to go back and save before continuing). --6F-- Go up to to where you'll find Golbez and Kain waiting for you. Cecil gives Golbez the Crystal of Earth, but Golbez refuses to hand over Rosa. Tellah gets pissed and attacks Golbez. Tellah uses a few spells that do very little damage. He then uses Meteo against Golbez. It does 9999 damage defeating Golbez (temporarily), but it costs Tellah his life. It also breaks the spell on Kain, who take you to Rosa when you talk to him. Cecil saves Rosa from a splitting headache, and Kain and Rosa join your party. Start to walk down and you'll be attacked by Valvalis, fiend of the air. After defeating her Rosa will cast EXIT, allowing you to escape the crumbling tower (it'll take you directly to Cecil's room in Baron). BARON Items: Magma Key, Ether1 (x4), Cure2 (x3), Life (x3), Cure1 (x2), Heal, Tent (x3), Elixir Party: Cecil, Yang, Cid, Rosa, Kain Kain tells the party about the Dark Crystals and gives you the Magma Key. Go to the main hall (the room with 3 chests in it) and go up the stairs on the right side of the room. When you reach a room with an obvious hidden door, press the switch under the torch to open it, then follow the path to 6 chests. After getting the treasure, continue following the main path. It'll lead outside to a tower. On the first floor there are 4 chests and two stairways. Get the chests (to get the leftmost chest, go down the stairs, then come back up) then take the stairs leading up. On the 2nd floor there are two more chests. Get them, then continue up the tower. On the top floor you'll find 3 more chests, plus some pots (one contains an item). Now return to the first floor and take the stairs leading down to the basement. Examine the pots to get an Elixir, then go right and down to the next floor of the basement. Here you'll find the real king of Baron, who tells you to go to the land of summoned monsters, then return here. Now work your way out and exit the castle. Board your airship and head north to the Village Mist VILLAGE MIST Items: RubyRing, Cloth Clothes, Tiara Helm, Cure1, Heal, 100 GP Party: Cecil, Yang, Cid, Rosa, Kain It seems the people have already rebuilt the village. Explore the buildings, talking to people as you do. Building: house in top left corner of town Enter the fire place to find a secret passage leading to 3 chests. Inn: center of the village COST: 50 GP You'll find Namingway here. Weapon Shop: at the bottom of the village Whip 3000 GP Dancing Knife 5000 GP Armor Shop: next to the Weapon shop Bard Clothes 70 GP To the right of the Armor shop is a path through the bushes that leads to an overgrown clearing where you'll find two hidden items in the grass. There is another hidden item in the tall grass near the Inn. When you've finished board the Enterprise again and go back to Baron. From there go directly south to Agart. AGART Items: Cure2 Party: Cecil, Yang, Cid, Rosa, Kain Astro Tower: building to the left of the entrance Examine the telescope on the top floor to see the moon. Inn: to the right of the entrance COST: 50 GP The items shop located here sells the same stuff as the others and at the same prices. Weapon Shop: building north of the Inn Rod 100 GP ShortBow 220 GP Staff 160 GP CrossBow 700 GP Spear 60 GP Iron Arrow 10 GP Boomrang 3000 GP White Arrow 20 GP Armor Shop: next to Weapon shop Iron Shield 100 GP Iron Glove 130 GP Iron Helm 150 GP IronRing 100 GP Iron Armor 600 GP Enter the building to the northwest of the Inn to find Namingway. Search the grassy area north of the Astro Tower to find a Cure2. Finally, search the well that's in the center of town. When your item list pops up, use the Magma Key. This'll cause an earthquake that reveals the entrance to the underworld. Exit Agart and board the Enterprise. Fly it over the hole in the mountains and press 'A' to enter. Upon entering the underworld, the Red Wings and the Dwarven Tanks that they're figting will get on either side of the Enterprise. The Enterprise will get caught in the crossfire causing it to crashland outside the Castle of Dwarves. CASTLE OF DWARVES Items: Dwarf Axe, 500 GP (x2), Elixir (x2), Ether1 (x2), Strength Ring, Ether2, Cure2, Bl. Belt Clothes, 1000 GP, Carrot (x3), Cabin (x3) Party: Cecil, Rosa, Kain, Yang Leaves: Cid Joins: Rydia Boss: Cal, Brena, Calbrena, Golbez Go straight ahead and meet with King Giott. He'll tell you that 2 of the 4 Dark Crystals have been taken by Golbez. He'll then offer to help Cid repair the airship. Cid will leave the party to make the needed repairs. Yang will feel that someone is eavesdropping and then you'll see something jump up from behind the wall. The secret door to the crystal room will be opened and you'll enter. Inside you'll find 4 dolls and the door out will be locked. The dolls come to life and attack. First, they'll attack as two groups of three (1 groups of 3 Cals, and one of 3 Brenas). When they are almost all defeated, they'll form the giant Calbrena. Defeat it and Golbez will appear and attack. He'll summon a Shadow Dragon to kill off you party. When it is about to attack Cecil, a Mist Dragon appears and kills the Shadow Dragon. Then Rydia will join the battle. After defeating Golbez, Rydia will explain what happened to her after the Leviatan attack. She'll join you and then Golbez will show he isn't dead. His hand will go up, grab the crystal, and disappear. After the king explains what you should do next, exit the throne room and go up the stairs to the right. Here you'll find the weapon and armor shops. Weapon Shop: Armor Shop: Dwarf Axe 15000 GP Fire Shield 1250 GP Great Bow 2000 GP Fire Armor 30000 GP Darkness Arrow 40 GP Wizard Helm 2000 GP Fire Sword 14000 GP Wizard Clothes 1200 GP Flame Spear 11000 GP Rune Ring 2000 GP Next, go to the right and go up some more stairs. Get the chest and go up some more stairs. One the next floor take one step left then straight down to the wall. From there go left again, through the wall. There is 500 GP in one of the pots. Now go up the stairs to the top floor of the tower. You need to walk "through" the walls to get the 4 chests on this floor. Once you've gotten them, go down a couple floors and go through the door at the bottom of the room. Cross the top of the castle and enter the door to the left tower. Once again climb up the stairs to the next floor. In this room, go to the indentation in the wall on the right side of the room and press down. There is another 500 GP in one of the pots. The top floor of this tower is slightly complicated. Start by walking left and getting the chest. Now step down and follow the hidden path to the bottom chest. Step down again and follow the hidden path over to Namingway and another chest. To get to the final chest, step down and then go right, following the path up to the chest. To get back to the stairs simply step right once and then go up and around the left. Now go down stairs as far as you can (you'll end up in an Inn/Item shop). First, search the pot next to the shop counter. Inn: COST = 600 GP Item shop Life 150 GP Cure1 30 GP Cure2 150 GP Tent 200 GP Cabin 1000 GP Carrot 50 GP Heal 100 GP Ether1 10000 GP Once you're finished here use the stairs going down located in the upper-righthand corner of the room. Through the door is the nursing room. On the right side of the room (not the nursing room) is a group of pots (3 have carrots in them), plus a spot you can use a carrot to summon a big Chocobo. In the center of the room is a Dwarven guard. Talk to him and he'll open a secret door. Enter it and then go left to some stairs leading to the basement. First, go left, then down, then right when possible to get 3 chests (each containing a Cabin). Next, return to the left, then go down, and left some more to some stairs leading up to the Dwarf Base. DWARF BASE Party: Cecil, Kain, Yang, Rosa, Rydia On the far left side of the base are the stairs leading outside. Above them is a pot of life (examine it to refill all HPS and MPS). If you want to raise levels, this is a good spot to do it. Fight monsters outside, right around the opening to the base. If you get low on HPS or MPS just re-enter and use the pot of life. When you're ready go west and then north to the Tower of Bab-il. When you get there, the Dwarven tanks will attack the tower while you sneak in. TOWER OF BAB-IL Items: 10 Ice Arrows (x2), Ether1, Bandana Helm, Blizzard Spear, IceBrand Sword, CatClaw, Cure2 (x2), Life (x2), ArcherBow, Ice Shield, Ice Armor, 2000 GP, Ether2, Tower Key Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia Leaves: Yang Boss: Dr. Lugae, Belnab Go left when you can to get a chest, then down from there to get another chest. Now go over to the other side of this floor to get a third chest. Enter the door at the top of the room to go up to the next floor. --2F-- To the left is a chest. Get it then go down. Enter the first door you reach. Inside is a chest (containing the monster Alert which summons a Stoneman; defeat them for Blizzard Spear). Now exit the room and go right to another door. Inside this room is another monster chest (contains another Alert, this one summons a Chimera; defeat them for IceBrand Sword). Exit the room and go left to the door to the next floor. --3F-- Go left to get the chest, then go right, over to another chest. Now go down, get the chest, and enter the door. Get the 2 chest in this little room then re-enter the door. Follow the path up and all the way around to the door on the other side of this floor. --4F-- The door to the left leads to a save spot. When you're ready, take the path going up and follow it until you have a choice in your direction. Go down and enter the first door. Inside is a monster chest (inside is another Alert, this one summons a Naga; defeat them for an Ice Shield). Exit the room and go back up to enter the door up there. There is yet another monster infested chest here (another Alert, this one summons a Flame Dog; defeat them for Ice Armor). Exit the room and go left, taking the top path over to the door to the next floor. --5F-- First, go down, to the right, and up to the chest. Next, go back down and continue to the right. Get the chest that is on the far right side of the floor, then go up from there and enter the door to the next floor. --6F-- Just go to the left and enter the door. --7F-- Go right to find a door leading to a save spot, then go down as far as possible. To the left is another chest and to the right is a door leading to the 8th floor. --8F-- Follow the path to the left, then up to where you'll find Dr. Lugae and Rubicant. Rubicant will leave, but Dr. Lugae will stay to fight you with help from his robot, Belnab. After defeating them, Dr. Lugae will transform himself and fight you again. After defeating him again you'll get the Tower Key. Backtrack your way down to the 5th floor. --5F-- Once on the 5th floor go down and to the left. Stop when you can go up. Take the path up and examine the door. Use the Tower Key to unlock it. Inside you'll be attacked by 3 Dark Imps. After defeating them, they'll set the Super Cannon to fire and no one can stop it. Yang says he can take care of it and pushes you out of the room, locking the door as you leave. The cannon explodes and it is assumed Yang perished in the explosion. Now you have to work you way all the way to the entrance of the tower (the EXIT spell won't work). As you step onto the bridge leading out, Golbez will talk and then cause the bridge to collapse. Your party runs outs and jumps from the tower. Just then Cid will fly in, in the airship, to catch you. An enemy ship will chase the Enterprise to the hole leading to the overworld. Cid will give the controls to Cecil and leap off the ship with a bomb. You make it out of the underworld but Cid's bomb closes off the entrance. So, now you are stuck in the overworld. Go north to Baron. BARON Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia Go forward until you're inside the castle. Then go right and up the stairs. This will take you to Cid's workers. Talk to them and they'll attach a hook to the Enterprise. With the hook you can pick up the hovercraft and carry it around. Now take the Enterprise to where you left the hovercraft, which should be found by going northeast to Kaipo, then north to Damcyan, and finally east to Mt. Hobs. Fly directly above the hovercraft and press 'A' to pick it up. Now fly northwest to where you should see the top of the Tower of Bab-il sticking out of the mountains. Drop the hovercraft near the castle that's there, then land and enter the castle. EBLAN Items: Cure2 (x6), Cabin (x2), Life (x2), Heal, Slumber Sword, Ether1 (x4), 2000 GP, 10 Mute Arrows, 600 GP, Drain Spear, 800 GP, Elixir Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia Go straight forward until you are inside the castle. In the first room there is a chest that you can get by going through the wall. Go up a couple more rooms and you'll reach the throne room. On both sides othe room you can go through the wall to reach a staircase. The one on the right leads to 3 chests, and the other leads to 2 more chests. Now return to the throne room and go to the outside part of the castle. Go left and follow that path around to the left tower. On the 1st floor of the tower there are two chests. To get them take 2 steps down, then go right. This leads to the chest on the right which contains monsters (a Staleman and 4 Skulls; defeat them for a Slumber Sword). To get the one on the left you'll need to go up a floor. On the 2nd floor go left and then down into the wall. This will take you back downstairs to the chest. Two of the pots contain Cure2s. To get the chests go straight down from the stairs and then follow the path going right. Now exit the tower and go over to the right tower on the other side of the castle. On the 1st floor of this tower is two more chests. To get the one on the left, go up to the top left corner of the room and go left through the wall. The other chest can only be reached from the next floor. Once on the 2nd floor, press the switch to open the door. Then go through the door by going around the stairs. Get the 2 chests on the left, then examine the pots for a Life. Next, stand to the right of the pots and got right, through the wall, and around to get the top chest of the two on the right side of the room. This chest contains monsters (2 BlackCats and a Lamia; defeat them for Drain Spear). Now go back around to get the remaining chest. Finally, drop down the hole to get the chest on the 1st floor. Take two steps down and you'll be in the basement. Follow the path to reach 3 chests. The chest on the right contains monsters (3 Mad Ogres; defeat them for Elixir). Continuing along the path will take you outside of the castle. Board the hovercraft and take it west, over the rocks, to the cave. CAVE EBLANA Items: Shuriken (x2), Heal, 1200 GP, Cure1 (x2), Ether1, Tent, Cure2 (x3), Cure3, Cabin, Elixir (x2), 800 GP, 850 GP, Life (x3), Drain Sword, Ether2 Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia Joins: Edge As you enter go right (through the wall) to get a chest. Continue right, through another wall, to get another chest. Now go back through the wall and down into the water. Once again go right, through the wall. Follow the water until you can get out, then go down to get a third chest. Now go left where you'll find the stairs leading down to the next floor. --B2F-- This floor of the cave is inhabited by the people from Eblan. Inn: the first door you reach COST = 700 GP There is an Item shop here, too. Among the people of Eblan, you'll also find a Namingway. A pot on the left side of the room also contains a Cure1. When you're ready, take the stairs on the left side to reach the Pass to Bab-il. First thing to do is grab the chest. Then go up to another chest, a fallen soldier, and stairs going to the next floor. Before using the stairs, go down from them, through a path in the wall, to another chest. Once you've gotten it go up to the next floor. Go up and to the right to get a chest, then come down to a spot you can go through the wall (you may need to turn the brightness up on your T.V. to see it). Get the chest then go back through the wall and continue down to the stairs going down a floor. The first thing you'll see after going down the stairs are 3 chests. Get them, then go right, through the path in the wall, to get 2 more chests. Next, follow the path down as far as possible. Go left to pick up the chest, then go right for 3 more chests. Now go up, all the way to the next floor. To the right is a door leading to a save spot. Also in this small room is a hidden path to the right leading to a chests (contains monsters - 2 Stalemen; defeat them for Drain Sword). Once out of the room go left to get a chest, then take the path leading up. This will lead to where Edge is confronting Rubicant. After Rubicant wins, he will leave. Your party will come out and Rosa uses Cure2 to heal Edge. Edge will then join your party. Before going up to the stairs, go through the wall to the left to get a chest. The stairs lead to the Tower of Bab-il. TOWER OF BAB-IL Items: Cure3(x2), Ogre Axe, 2000 GP, Middle Sword, 82000 GP, Cure2(x2) Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Boss: K. Eblan, Q. Eblan, Rubicant Go up and Edge will get your party in through the wall. Get the chest to the left, then follow the path to the left around to a door. Continue past the door to get a chest, then go back and enter the door. --B2F-- Go right and follow the path until you reach a spot you can go down. Go down to get the chest (contains a fight with 4 Mad Ogres; defeat them for an Ogre Axe), then go back up and continue on the path to the left. This'll take you to the door leading to the next floor. --B3F-- Follow the path past the door to get a chest, then go back and enter the door to the next floor. --B4F-- Take the path going right. This'll lead to a chest and a little further, the door leading back up to B3F. --B3F-- Go all the way to the left where you'll find 2 doors. The first one leads to a save spot. The 2nd door leads down a floor. --B4F-- Not much to do here. Just go left and enter the door. --B5F-- Go down the path on the left. Follow the path all the way to the left to collect a bunch of gold from the chest. Then go back and up. Here you'll run into the King and Queen of Eblan. They'll attack you. Once they're defeated, Rubicant will appear. Rage will bring out hidden power in Edge (he'll have more Ninja spells). Talk to Rubicant and he'll restore you to full strength, then he'll attack. After he's defeated a Chamberlain will come in. Edge will tell him to go back to Eblan to start rebuilding. Now enter the door. It'll take you to where Golbez is storing the crystals. As you step forward to get the crystals, a trap will open, dropping your party down to the underground part of the tower. Go up and get the chest, then go down and enter the door. --7F-- Follow the path up to another door. --6F-- Go down until you have a choice between left or right. First go right to get a chest. Then go back to the left and enter the door. Through the door you'll find an airship that you can steal to escape from the tower. Edge names the airship FALCON. The Falcon can't fly over lava so you can only go to the Castle of Dwarves. CASTLE OF DWARVES Items: Luca Key Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Go straight forward and talk to King Giott. He'll give you the key to the sealed cave where the final crystal is located. Exit the throne room and go up the stairs to the left. Then go up and take the stairs there. Go right and enter the door to the nursing room. Here you'll find Cid resting in bed. Cid will get out of bed and fix the Falcon so it can go over Magma, then he'll go back to the nursing room to rest. Exit the castle and board the Falcon. Go south and you'll find a small hut. KOKKOL, THE SMITH'S Items: Heal, Cure2, Elixir Party: Cecil, Kain, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Search the pots for a couple items, then go upstairs and search the bookcase for an Elixir. Talking to the sleeping guy in bed will reveal that you need Adamant. For now that's all you can do here. Exit the hut and board the Falcon again. This time follow the wall and go left to find a town. Now board the Falcon again and go northeast to the cave that can only be reached by flying. SEALED CAVE Items: Ether1 (x3), Long Sword (x2), Life (x5), Cure2 (x2), Light Sword, Ninja Star, Elixir, 5000 GP, Ninja Helm, Ether2, Cure3, Darkness Crystal Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Leaves: Kain Boss: EvilWall Go forward and examine the door. Use the Luca Key to enter. After going through the door, go down and slide across the rope. Examine the door on the other side. It is a Trap Door which you must kill to get past. Once past the door, get the 2 chests, then go back out. Go down to get another chest, then go up and to the left. Shimmy across another rope and examine the door. Defeat the Trap Door, then enter the door. Get the chest, then go right to get another chest (you can ignore both doors, they're both Trap Doors leading to empty rooms). Next go down and use the stairs to the next floor. --B2F-- Go down, across the rope, then to the right to get a chest. Next go back to the stairs. From there go right, across the bridge, to another chest. Go up from there and you'll find some doors, all of which are Trap Doors. The first door leads to an empty room. The 2nd leads to a chest containing a Light Sword. The 3rd door leads to 3 chests. The 4th door leads to an empty room. The 5th door leads to a save spot. The 6th and final door on this stretch of the path leads to 2 chests. After exiting the 6th door, go down to another Trap door. This door leads to another room. Go up and get the chest, then go a little further and down the stairs to the next floor First, get the 2 chests to the right. The door to the left is a Trap Door, but leads to an empty room, so it can be ignored. Go down through the opening in the bottom wall to the next room. --B3F-- Go far to the right where you'll find a door and a chest. Get the chest and then go back t othe left and across the room (the Trap Door by the chest you go leads to an empty room). Once across the rope go right and fight the Trap Door to get into the room it guards. Inside is 2 chests. Get the treasure then exit the room and go to the left where you'll find stairs going down. Down the stairs is a save spot. After saving go through the opening in the bottom wall. --B4F-- Go either left or right (it doesn't matter which) and work your way around the room to the stairs in the center. --B5F-- Go up across the bridge and examine the door. After defeating the Trap Door, enter it. It'll lead to the crystal room where the final crystal is being stored. Go up and grab the Dark Crystal, then go back down and exit the room. As you're about to cross the bridge again you'll be attacked by EvilWall. After defeating the wall, continue across the bridge and up the stairs. From here, work you're way back to the entrance of the cave (EXIT won't work, but WARP will). Once you've reached the entrance, Golbez will command Kain to grab the crystal and return to him, which he does. Exit the cave and use the Falcon to return to the Castle of Dwarves. CASTLE OF DWARVES Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Go to the throne room and talk to King Giott. He'll tell you of the Big Whale ship the can be used to travel to the moon. Then Cid will enter and tell you he can help to get back to the overworld. Cid will attach a drill to the front of the Falcon, then he'll collapse and will have to rest more in the nursing room. Exit the castle and board the Falcon. Go west to the cave on an island. LAND OF MONSTERS Items: Life (x3), Ether1 (x2), Cure2 (x3), Cabin, Cure3, Poison Axe, Ninja Sword, Defense Sword, 2000 GP (x2), Rat Tail, 3000 GP, 10 Samurai Arrows, Elixir, Ether2, Samurai Bow, Heal Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Boss: Asura, Leviatan If Rosa has the Float spell, it would be a good idea to cast it on your whole party (push left when selecting the character to cast it on to select the whole party). If she doesn't have it you can either go out and raise levels until she dows, skip this section for now, or spend a lot of time healing. Go right from the entrance, then go up to a chest. From the chest go left (through the wall) to another chest. Now return to the first chest and go down to another chest. Next, go left to the stairs leading down a floor. --B2F-- You'll need to cast float on your party again, then go all the way to the right to find a chest. Then go up and left for another chest. Now take the path going right to find the stairs to the next floor. --B3F-- Follow the path until you reach a chest. Then go right to another chest. Next, go right, into the wall, and follow the hidden path down and to the left. The path will eventually go up and there'll be a spot where you can leave the path to get 3 chests. Now get back on the hidden path and go back to the left, the follow it all the way up. This'll lead out to another chest containing a fight with 5 Warriors (defeat them for a Defense Sword). Now go down and to the left (through the wall) where you'll find a square. Step on it to be transported to where the summoned monsters live. --B4F-- Go left to get a chest, then keep going to find another chest. From there go right. Step on the square to go down to the next level, then step on it again to go back up. Now go down and get the chest containing the Rat Tail. Get on the other side of the transport square and continue to the right to get two more chests. From the bottom most chest on this floor go directly up. There should be a hidden transport square somewhere near there that will take you down to a spot to get 4 more chests. Below the transport square that take you back to B4F there is another hiddne transporter that'll take you all the way out of the cave. Once you've gotten the treasure, return to B4F by way of the visible teleport square. Now go around to the next floor. --TOWN OF MONSTERS-- This is just like any other town except the inhabitants are monsters (luckily they're nice :) Item shop/Inn: up and left from the entrance square Inn cost: 1200 GP Life 150 GP Cabin 1000 GP Cure1 30 GP Carrot 50 GP Cure2 150 GP Heal 100 GP Tent 200 GP Ether1 10000 GP Building: left of the item shop Here you'll find 2 chests and a save spot. Examine the bookshelves to learn more aboue the summoned monsters. Basement: More bookshelves to examine. When finished step on the teleport square. The King's Room: Talk to the woman first. She is Queen Asura. You must defeat her to even speak to the King. If you think you're ready tell her you will challenge her. Once you've beaten Asura, Rydia will be able to CALL her in battle. Plus the King will now challenge you. If you're ready say yes. Defeat Leviatan and Rydia will be able to CALL him during battle, too. Once you've finished in the Land of Summoned Monsters, cast the EXIT spell to get out quickly. Now board the Falcon and go northwest to another cave. SYLVAN CAVE Items: 10 Charm Arrows, Cure2 (x5), Heal (x4), Charm Rod, 2000 GP, 3000 GP, Cure3, Ether1 (x2), Elixir (x4), FullMoon, Avenger, 10 Medusa Arrows, ElvenBow, 1000 GP, Cabin, 10 Fire Arrows, 10 Ice Arrows, 10 Lit Arrows, Mute Dagger, Yang's Claws Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Once again it'd be a good idea to have Rosa cast Float on the entire party. First go right and get two chests. Then go back to the left and down to the next floor. --B2F-- Remember to recast Float. Go up and use the stairs to go down a floor. Follow the path up to 3 chests. Next go back down and into the path through the wall. The path will lead to stairs going up. Once up the stairs follow the path (getting 4 chests on the way) which leads to 5 more chests and a hole. Get the chests and drop in the hole. After landing go up and through the wall to the left. Step on the transport square. You are now in a room with 6 chests in it. The top 3 chests all contain Elixirs if you defeat 6 Ghosts. The 3 from left to right contain 2 DarkTrees + 2 Molbols (defeat for FullMoon), 2 Molbols (defeat for Avenger Sword), and 2 Centipedes (defeat for 10 Medusa Arrows). Once you've gotten what you want, step on the teleport square to the right. This will take you out of the cave. Re-enter the cave and go down and take the stairs to the next floor. --B2F-- Go down and use the stairs to go back up a floor. To the right is a save spot. From the save spot go up and to the right. Follow the path through the wall to a chest. Now backtrack to the stairs and go left to 2 more chests. From there go down and use the first set of stairs you come to. You'll be back at B2F. Follow the path to the left, up to the stairs going up. Climb the stairs and go up from there to get 5 chests. Then go back down the stairs and continue going up. Once you've reached the stairs going down, go right into the wall and over to the chests (it contains a fight with a ToadLady and 6 TinyToads; defeat them for a Mute Dagger). Now go back to the stairs and go down them. --B3F-- First get the chest over to the left. Next go down and follow that path to a building. Enter the building. Inside you'll find two chests (they'll contain the claws that Yang had equipped when you last saw him). On the left side of the room is Yang. He won't say anything to you. To get out of the cave quickly, go upstairs and step on the platform. Board the Falcon and go east to the exit of the underworld. Here you'll find a hole. Try landing (press 'A') on the hole. This'll take you back to the overworld. From here go east to Mysidia. MYSIDIA Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edge, Rosa As you enter the Elder will tell you to come to the Tower of Wishes (you'll go there automatically). The Elder and mages will wish, causing the Big Whale ship to rise from the water. You'll automatically exit Mysidia. Go over and board the Big Whale. BIG WHALE - THE SHIP OF LIGHT Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edge, Rosa To fly around "talk" to the control center which is on the wall above the crystal. To go to the moon, "talk" to the crystal of flight. Going down will take you to a room with 6 hyperbaric chambers which you can use to sleep in. Going further down will take you to a Big Chocobo. For now "talk" to the control center and fly to Baron. BARON Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Boss: Odin Go forward until you're inside the castle. Go up the stairs to the right. Follow that path until you're in the tower. Go down the stairs to the basement. Now go right and down the stairs you reach. Here you'll find the real King of Baron again. Now that you've been to the Land of Summoned Monsters he'll allow Rydia to be able to CALL him, but first you have to defeat him. Once you defeat him, Rydia will have ODIN as a call spell. Exit the castle, board the Big Whale, and fly northeast to Fabul. FABUL Item: Pan Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Go to 2F, then go down and through the door to the outside of the castle. Climb the left tower and talk to Yang's wife. She'll give you a frying Pan and she'll tell you to hit Yang over the head with it. Exit Fabul and board the Big Whale. Fly around and find the Enterprise. When you find it, exit the Big Whale and board the Enterprise. Go to where you left the hovercraft. Pick it up with the hook attached to the airship and take it to the town south of Fabul. Drop the hovercraft and land the Enterprise, then enter the town. SILVERA Items: 5000 GP, Silver Dagger, Silver Staff Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge Inn: left of the entrance COST: 500 GP Namingway is here. Search the deep grass to the right of the armor shop for a Silver Dagger. Search the deep grass to the right of the Inn for a Silver Staff. Now exit the town and board the hovercraft and go across the rocks to a cave. GROTTO ADAMANT Items: Adamant, (Adamant Armor) Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Talk to the small guy in blue. Give him your Rat Tail and he'll give you Adamant. If you happen to run into a Pink Puff on the moon and you get lucky enough for it to leave a Pink Tail, then bring it here and give the Pink Tail to the guy. He'll be really happy and he'll give you Adamant Armor (which is the best armor in the game). NOTE: From what I've heard, the chances of running into a Pink Puff is 1 in 64, and the chances it'll leave a Pink Tail is also 1 in 64. Now board the airship and go to the underworld via the hole near Agart. Once in the underworld, go south to Kokkol's hut. KOKKOL, THE SMITH'S Item: Excalbur Sword Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Go up the stairs and talk to the sleep head. Give him your Adamant, and he'll take your Legend sword to make it into a more powerful sword. Go down the stairs and talk to him again. He'll be finished making the sword, which he gives you. Exit Kokkol's hut and board the airship. Go to the upper left corner of the underworld and enter the Sylvan Cave. SYLVAN CAVE Party: Cecil, Rosa, Edge, Rydia Go down and take the stairs to the next floor. --B2F-- Go down and use the stairs to go back up a floor. Go left and then down the stairs you reach. Follow the path left and all the way up to the 2nd set of stairs (the ones leading down). --B3F-- Go down and follow the path to the Sylph's house. Once in the house go to the left and talk to Yang. Select the Pan when the item list appears. Yang wakes up and want to go with you. The Sylphs say they will help instead. From now on Rydia can call them using SYLPH call magic. Go upstairs and step on the platform to exit the cave, then board your airship and return to the overworld. Once in the overworld go northeast to Fabul again. FABUL Item: Spoon Dagger Party: Cecil, Rosa, Edge, Rydia Go to the left tower again and talk to Yang's wife again. Give her back her Pan and she'll give you the Spoon Dagger. The Spoon Dagger can only be thrown by Edge. You only get one of them and it does a lot of damage (9999) so it'd be a good idea to save it for the fight with the final boss. Exit Fabul and fly around until you find the Big Whale ship. Board the Big Whale and "talk" to the crystal of flight to go to the moon. THE MOON Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edge, Rosa Find the castle (it looks like crystals sticking out of the mountains) and go south from it. Land in the clearing surrounded by mountains (the grey colored area is mountains). Enter the cave that's at the top of the clearing. CAVE OF HUMINGWAYS Party: Cecil, Rydia, Edge, Rosa This is the home of the Humingways. These one aren't like the Namingways you've met so far. Talk to them to find an item shop. Item shop: Cure2 150 GP Life 150 GP Ether1 10000 GP Ether2 50000 GP Elixir 100000 GP Cabin 1000 GP Whistle 20000 GP Exit and board the Big Whale when you're ready. Fly back to the castle and land on the mountains that are above it. Now go over and enter the cave (to the left of the castle). LUNAR PATH Items: Elixir, Heal, Cure2 Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Go to the right to get a chest (containing a fight with 2 Procyotes and 2 Juclyotes; defeat them for an Elixir). Next go left and follow the path up. When you reach stairs, keep going to the right to get 2 chests, then return to the stairs and use them to exit the cave. Now go east, then south to the next cave in the Lunar Path. Once inside follow the path down and out. Now go west and enter the cave directly in front of the castle. LUNAR'S LAIR Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Joins: FuSoYa To the left is a square that will restore your HPS and status when stepped on. To the right is a similar square that restores MPS. Go up from the entrance. FuSoYa, the guardian of the Lunarians' slumber will appear. FuSoYa tell you a lot of stuff including who is controlling Golbez and who Cecil's father is. He then joins your party and tells you to go back to the Tower of Bab-il on Earth. You can go up and talk to the crystals of the moon if you want. When you're ready exit the Lair and follow the Lunar Path back to the Big Whale. Now go left and land on the mountainous ring surrounding a cave (the whole thing looks kinda like a bulls-eye). Exit the ship and then go down and enter the cave. CAVE BAHAMUT Items: Samurai Gloves, Samurai Shield, Samurai Armor, Samurai Helm Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge, FuSoYa Boss: Bahamut Go down all the way to a chest. Then go up and to the left. A little above you, you should see a hidden passage (turn up the brightness on your T.V. to see it better). Follow this passage to a chest. After getting it, go back through the passage. Now go down and left. Follow the path to an opening in the wall leading down a floor. --B2F-- Go left following the path to a chest. From the chest go right to another chest. Now go back to the left and up to the opening leading to the next floor. --B3F-- Go down and follow that path around to a spot with 3 people. Talk to the one on top. He is Bahamut, who you'll have to fight. Defeat him and he will give you his services as a call spell for Rydia. Cast EXIT to escape the cave (or walk ou if you want) and board the Big Whale ship. Talk to the crystal of flight and return to Earth. On Earth the Giant of Bab-il appears. King Giott, the Dwarves, the Sylphs, and Yang come in blasting at the giant in tanks. Then Cid, the Elder of Mysidia, Palom, Porom, and Edward appear in airships also blasting at the giant. While the giant is distracted Cid picks your party up in his airship and takes you to the giant's mouth, where your party enters. GIANT OF BAB-IL Items: Shuriken, Cure2, Ether1, 10 Samurai Arrows, Cabin, Life (x2), Elixir Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia Leaves: FuSoYa Joins: Kain Bosses: Milon Z, Rubicant, Kainazzo, Valvalis, CPU, Attacker, Defender Go up and step onto the funnel-like transport square, which will take you to the giant's neck. --NECK-- Step onto the square in the middle of the room. --CHEST-- Go down and to the left to get a chest. From there continue along the path to another chest. Continue along the same path and you'll come to another chest. Now go straight up to get a 4th chest. From there go down and to the left to get the final chest of this floor, then go up and step on the transport square. --STOMACH-- Go straight up to get a chest, then go back down and to the right. Take the right-most of the 2 paths going up to get another chest, then come back and go up the left path. This path will eventually lead to the transport square. --PASSAGE-- Follow the path going down. Get the chest you'll come to. Fight the Last Arm inside it to get an Elixir. Then continue along the path. When you have the choice of either going left or up, go left to find a save spot, then follow the path going up to the transport square. --LUNG-- Go up. When you step on the white square the four fiends will appear around you. Rubicant will restore your HPS & MPS then you'll be attacked by the fiends in this order: Milon Z, Rubicant, Kainazzo, and finally Valvalis. After defeating them it may be a good idea to go back to the save spot. Once you're ready, continue up past the white square to the teleport square. --CPU-- Go up and you'll find the CPU of the giant, which you'll have to fight. Once you've defeated it, Golbez will come out. FuSoYa will break the spell controlling Golbez, and it'll be revealed that Cecil and Golbez are brothers. FuSoYa will leave the party and will join Golbez, who is going to the moon to fight Zemus. The giant begins to collapse and Kain comes out. The spell on Kain has also been broken and he leads you out of the giant. Back on the Big Whale ship Kain will join your party. Rosa and Rydia will supposedly get off the ship, and the other three use the crystal of flight to go to the moon. Once on the moon, Rosa and Rydia come out of their hiding spots and rejoin the party. Once you're out of the ship, reboard it and return to Earth. Find one of your airships and use it to go to Kokkol's hut in the underworld. KOKKOL,THE SMITH'S Party: Cecil, Edge, Rosa, Rydia, Kain One of Kokkol's assistants will sell you stuff: Shuriken 20000 GP Ninja Star 50000 GP Samurai Arrows 140 GP Buy all the supplies you think you'll need (or can afford) from here and other shops, then return to the Big Whale ship and use the crystal of flight to go back to the moon. Once on the moon, land on the mountains above the crystal palace (as you did before). Now enter the cave and go through the entire Lunar Path to the Lunar Lair (like you did when you went to get FuSoYa). LUNAR LAIR Items: Ninja Clothes, Life Staff, Murasame, Flame Whip, Dragoon Shield, Dragoon Helm, Dragoon Armor, Dragoon Gloves, 10 Artemis Arrows (x2), Elixir (x2), Cure3 (x2), Stardust Rod, Crystal Shield, Protect Ring (x2), Crystal Armor, Crystal Gloves, White Clothes, Crystal Helm, Cabin (x2), Ninja Star (x4), Life, Crystal Sword, Heroine Clothes, White Spear, Ribbon Helm (x2), Masamune, Whistle, Crystal Party: Cecil, Rosa, Rydia, Edge, Kain Boss: Pale Dim, Wyvern, Plague, Ogopogo, Zemus, Zeromus Go to the crystal room (the room beyond the spot where you met FuSoYa) and talk to the crystals. Then step on the teleport square in the center of the room. This will send your party to the cave where Zemus is. You have a long journey before actually reaching Zemus though. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B1-- First go through the wall to the right and follow that path around to a chest. Fight the 2 RedGiants inside to get Ninja Clothes. Go through the wall to the left and step on the transport square. Now go up through the hole in the wall. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B2-- Go up and get the chest. Fight the 2 Warlocks and 2 Karys inside for a Life Staff, then continue to the teleport square. When you reappear, head down to the hole to the next floor. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B3-- As you attempt to grab the floating sword you'll be attacked by a Pale Dim. Defeat it to get the Murasame. Once you've gotten the sword for Edge, return to the beginning of the cave (probably the quickest way is to cast EXIT and then step on the teleport square in the crystal room again). Once you're back at the beginning of the cave, go down and enter the hole in the wall. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B2-- Follow the path into the wall. When the path goes left go that way to get a chest, then go back and continue up. This path will take you to the hole to the next floor and a chest. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B3-- First go down all the way and go through the wall to a chest containing the Dragoon Helm. From there continue to the right, once again going through the wall to a chest. A little further to the left is another chest. Go back through the two wall passages and then up through the hole to the next floor. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B4-- First go far to the right to get a chest, then return to the left and go down the stairs. From the bottom of the stairs go left and get the chest that is through the door. Leave the small room with the chest and go all the way to the right. Go down the stairs and enter the door at the bottom. Once inside go up to get a chest, then go all the way to the left to get another chest. After getting the chest, exit this room by going through the opening in the wall to the right. Once out of the room get the chest containing a fight with a Behemoth (defeat it for a Stardust Rod), then go down the stairs to the right. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B5-- Go down to the bottom of the stairs and then to the left to get a chest (contains a Red D. and a Blue D.; defeat them for the Crystal Shield). Next, enter the door that is back to the right. At the top of the room you can go through the wall to get a chest. From there continue through the wall to the right. When you come out of the wall, go down and through the opening in the wall. Get the chest containing a fight with a Behemoth (defeat it for Crystal Armor). After getting the chest go back through the opening and then do up and enter the opening at the top of the room. Go to the right to get a chest (contains a fight with 2 Red D.'s; defeat them for Cyrstal Gloves). Next go to the left, past the door you came from, and into the next one. Get the chest then exit the room through the door at the top. Once out go to the left to get another chest containing monsters (a D.Fossil and a Warlock; defeat them for a Crystal Helm). After getting the chest go back to the right, past the stairs leading down, and into the door. Get the chest inside. NOTE: This is the room where Pink Puffs can be fought. And if you get lucky you may get a Pink Tail to trade for Adamant Armor. When you're ready exit the room and go down the stairs to your left. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B6-- Get the chests on both sides of the path. Next go down the stairs on the left side. Get the chest, then walk off the narrow edge to the left (although you can't see anything, there is a hidden bridge there). Now go up and go down the ladder that's in the wall. Go down and get yet another chest, then go far to the right where you'll find a teleport square. Once you reappear go up to another teleporter. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B5-- Continue going up and you'll come to a chest with a Behemoth in it (defeat it for a Protect Ring). From there go up some more to another teleport square. This will lead to a room with a save spot and an opening in the bottom wall. Save your game and use a tent (or a cabin) if you want, then exit the room through the opening. To the right you'll find another sword on a pedestal. Attempt to get it and you'll be attacked by a Wyvern. Defeat it and you'll get the Crystal Sword. Now work your way back to the invisible bridge on Lunar Subterrane B6. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B6-- Once you've reached the invisible bridge, cross it and go up the stairs then down the other set of stairs to the right. Follow that path around to a door. Once inside, get the chest on the left side of the room (contains a fight with a Warlock and 3 Karys; defeat them for Heroine Clothes), then go through the door on the right. --LUNAR SUBTERRANE B7-- Follow the path down and enter the first door you come to. Inside is a save spot. Do whatever you need to here, then exit and go right, to another door. Inside this one you'll find a lance on a pedestal. Try to get it and you'll be attack by a Plague (defeat it and you'll get the White Spear). Now exit the room and go right to a 3rd door. As you enter you'll see two chests, but when you go forward to get them you'll be attacked by 2 D.Lunars. Defeat them and then get the 2 chests (both contain Ribbon Helms). Once you've gotten the 2 chests, exit the room and follow the path to the right until you reach stairs leading down. Go down these stairs and enter the opening t othe left. Follow the path leading to the right. This'll lead to a chest. Get the chest then go down. Before going down the stairs leading to the next level, go over and attempt to get the sword on the pedestal. Defeat Ogopogo to win the Masamune. Once you've gotten the Masamune, go down the stairs leading to the next floor. Go down and to the left to get the chest. From there go down and follow the path to another chest. After getting the 2nd chest, continue to the right and step on the teleportation square. Follow the path until you reach a chest. After getting the Ninja Star from the chest go all the way to the left to get another Ninja Star. From there go down and to the right, where you'll find a teleportation square. Now walk straight up. Here you'll find Golbez and FuSoYa, who'll fight Zemus. After a few spells that do little damage, they'll combine their powers to do the W.Meteo spell, which defeats Zemus. Zemus's hatred produces Zeromus, which Golbez and FuSoYa attempt to battle. Golbez will use the Crystal on Zeromus but, since he has darkness in his heart, it doesn't work and Zeromus uses Meteo to knock the combatants out of commission. The scene then changes to the wishing tower in Mysidia where all your friends are wishing for you. Back on the moon, Cecil will get up and receive the Crystal from Golbez. Once in battle with Zeromus, all your former allies will appear and give your party their strength. To get the battle started have Cecil use the Crystal on Zeromus. This'll make him change to his true form. Press 'B' to return to the battle and then run away. Go to the EQUIP option and equip the same weapon you had equipped before. It will split and you'll have 2 of that weapon in your hand. TRICKING THE TRICKER Don't let Trickers trick you. It'll use PEEP on itself which reveals that it's weak against thunder. If you take the bait and use a lightning spell on it, it'll attack with LIT-3. But if you just attack normally, it'll just continue to cast PEEP on itself. UNDRAINING UNDEAD Don't use the Drain Spear, Drain Sword, or Drain spell on any undead enemy. Put an item you don't want in the top left slot of your items list. Place a usable item in the slot right underneath it (like a cure or a heal). Use that item on the center character and the item in the top left slot will change to the next one in the list (see the ITEMS/WEAPONS/ARMORS section for the order the items will appear in). Also, the item in the 2nd slot down (the one you used) will not deplete so you can use it over and over again. 0CCA-AF6F Walk thru walls. You will continue going in any direction you push and if you try to enter a town or get a chest while the code is on you'll be transported to Baron (turn the effects switch off whenever you want to enter a town or get a chest). EF30-076E Get lots of gold and experience. Go into a battle and win. Leave the Game Genie on for a while (your characters will sit there and do the victory dance until you shut it off). The amount of experience will increase the longer the Game Genie is on (so will the amount of gold you get). Turn it off and you'll get tons of experience and gold, plus you'll get 8 items. xx6D-6F63 Replace the xx with whatever digits you want. Depending on which ones you put in, your characters will have different spells. With this code it is possible to get the DUMMY white magic spell, as well as enemy spells such as ABSORB, BEAK, GLOBE199, FISSION, etc. Some of the enemy spells will, unfortunately, cause the game to freeze or blackout. 64C2-AF6F This code is very cool. It allows you to repeat events. For instance, you can get Kain at the beginning of the game, then go back and get him again and again (making it possible to have 4 Kains and a Cecil before you even enter the Misty Cave). You can also get items from chests and pots over and over again. 3335-0D6E Earn 65536 gold after every battle ALTERNATE: 3335-0FAE C262-DF03 + Money doesn't decrease when you run C262-D763 C2AD-AD69 + Money doesn't decrease in shops (meaning everything is C3AD-AFA9 free if you have enough money).
