If this is your first time here

then welcome.  If you are a returning visitor, welcome back.

Wow!   Is life cool?   Yes!   I believe it is.  In these pages you will find all the things in life that I think are cool.  I'm not only talking about Alaska.  People, places, events, --some are silly.  Others will break your heart.

Join me while we laugh a little, cry a little, and get to know each other a lot.  When you leave, I hope you'll know more about Alaska than when you came, and perhaps, we'll grow along the way.

My experiences, point of view, and opinions expressed here are entirely my own.

The information provided on this site is not intended as a substitute for seeking regular and necessary professional advice.

The Purpose

I'm Pamela, the author of this site.  I've always wanted to be a writer, among other things.  This web page is my chance to share my talent, or lack thereof, with the public.

Choosing a category which fits my site is next to impossible.  What category fits a site with

how much longer is she going to talk Each time I see something that moves me, I'm inspired to write it down and share it.

I e-mail my sister, and she dashes immediately to my new page.  She's my biggest supporter and the impetus that got me hooked on the Net.

This site, Alaska Living! Wow!  This is So Cool! is made

  • to share my enthusiasm for life.
  • to keep in touch with my family.
  • to inform.
  • to answer the question, "What would I want to know today if I were coming to Alaska?"
When I see something cool, I add it to this web site to fill these needs.  My first hand experiences with Alaska living beats anything you'll read in an encyclopedia.

Whenever I read the newspaper or Alaska magazine, I run for the scissors to clip out an article for my page. Of course, if you asked my husband, he'd tell you,

"She doesn't need to gather anything else.  Have you seen her study?!"

I think she's almost finished A link to my bio is at the bottom of every page next to the copyright notice.  Click on Pamela Joy.

If you have an idea, a suggestion, or a question, I'd be delighted to know.  Look for the answers of ones already asked here.  Please leave your note in the guest book.  I'd love to know that you've dropped by.

If you'd rather send e-mail, I have a contact form on the site as well as free Alaska e-mail if you don't have an e-mail address of your own.

When someone sends me an e-mail card, I post it on the What's New? page.

  • Many thanks to all the graphic artists who have so generously shared their work.  Check each page for a link to the artist who made the graphics.
  • Kudos to Maricopa Center's Online Tutorial, where I learned how to make internal links.
  • and to Joe Barta's Tutorials for teaching me HTML and tables with simplicity and humor.
  • A special thanks to Angelfire for providing my first free web site as well as teaching me how to make web pages.
  • Thanks also goes to Matt for answering my questions and RivalPro for hosting my domain, pamelajoy.com
  • I must not forget to thank Evan Williams for Blogger which has given me new enthusiasm for updating my site.  He also created pyRads, a totally unique and new way to advertise on the Net.  I signed up for an account on the first day.
  • A big kiss to my husband, Keith who bought me a custom-built computer, my own domain, and all the other accoutrements for becoming a webmistress.
