ANDROIDS
An Android, by definition, is an artificial unit designed to appear human.
There have been a few androids but none so popular as Data and Lore. These
androids appeared to be humanoid except for pale, gold skin, and yellow eyes.
Androids usually possess incredible mental and physical abilities. Lifespans
are also generally much, much longer than the average humanoid's.
Androids can be programmed to act a certain way or to have certain
priorities. They can also be equipped with what is called an "emotion chip"
which allows them to experience all the emotions a biological humanoid
would. Of course, the absence of this chip means complete lack of emotion,
resulting in a very computer-like android.
The creation and use of Androids is still a very controversial subject as some
view them as individual lifeforms while others view them only as machines,
and therefore property.
