RUNNING YOUR ENGINE IN HOT WEATHER

When you run your engine in hot weather make sure to take breaks every 2 hours, so you don't overheat your engine, if your engine overheats, then you have a big problem because most of the time you will need to replace the engine. A good thing to do in hot weather, is make sure you have enough oil in your engine.

Use this next tip only if you have an engine that uses a gas and oil mix. It is better to have more oil in the mix than to less because your engine uses the mix for oil before gas. Just one last thing to worry about no matter what conditions you are running your engine in and thats to be careful after your engine has been running even for just minute it can get hot enough to bun you even if it was only a momentary touch especially on the muffler.

RUNNING YOUR ENGINE IN COLD WEATHER.

Cold weather is the worst time to start an engine because in cold weather the oil gets thick and takes longer to get distributed through out the engine and also most engines tend to start better once there warmed up. Thats why you should use SAE 5W 30 in the winter it's thinner and takes less time to distribute. Also its a good idea to put chains on your riding lawn mower and self propelled snow blowers wheels so they get better traction and don't slip and slide around especially if you have a hilly driveway, it could be a hazard to your machine and you..
