The Phone Story
It all started today... September 8,1998 in the afternoon. My friend and I kept
calling each other a lot, talking, and laughing and that sort of thing. After
my friend and I stopped talking on the phone, the phone rang.
I thought it
was Becca, so when I picked up the phone I said, "What?" No answer. "What?" I
said even louder.
"It's not very polite to say WHAT when you greet someone on the phone," said
the lady on the line.
"Okay...."
"Well is this 123-4567," asked the lady. (That's not my real phone number)
"Yeah," I muttered.
"Okay well is Alice there?" she asked.
"No! There is no Alice in this house," I said.
"Well it isn't very nice to say what when greeting someone on the phone," said
the lady in an kiddy way. "WHAT!!"
"Oh well," I said.
"Bye," she said.
"Bye."
Then I called my friend and told her what just happened.
"Don't you think that's rude?" I asked my friend.
"Yeah."
"Well bye!"
Then the phone rang again.
"Hello?" No answer. "Hello?" I said louder.
I heard the lady's voice. Boy, was she stupid. Wouldn't she know that if she
tried once using this phone number, I got the wrong house, it wouldn't work
again? i guess not. She must be very stupid.
"Is this 123-4567?" the stupid lady asked.
"Yes," I said again.
"So is Alice there?" she asked.
"There is no Alice!!!" I screamed into the phone.
Then she hung up.
Then the phone rings again.
"Oh no! Is it going to be that stupid lady again," I moaned.
I picked up the phone, and heard my friend's voice. "Good it's not her!"
"You know what just happened," my friend asked.
"What?" I asked.
Well the phone rang and I thought it was you, so I yelled into the phone," What Shirley?"
"This isn't Shirley," the lady said. "Is Dr.Somebody here?"
"That's funny," I told my friend. "Almost the same thing that happened to me!
Well anyway the lady called me again. If she tried once with this phone number
doesn't she know that she has the wrong one?"
"Yeah, what a stupid lady," my friend answered back.
Then we said bye and that's the end of my super cool phone story!!
