The Fiction Shelves

The definition of genres is a bit of a vague thing. It is often very hard to decide exactly which category a certain authors should be under. The classifications of the books themselves which I have used, is personal, therefore they are subject to change if I find a better way to catalogue them...

The headings I have used are:

Fantasy/Science Fiction
e.g. Anne McCaffrey, Terry Pratchett, Neil Gaiman
Humour
  e.g. Giles Brandreth, Brendan O'Carrol
Gothic horror and Thrillers

e.g. Bram Stoker, Mary Shelley, Horace Walpole

Crime/Adventure
e.g. Len Deighton, Alister Maclean, John le Carré
Historical Novels and Romances
e.g. Georgette Heyer, Julia Quinn, Alys Clare, Ellis Peters
Classics
e.g. William Shakespeare, Charles Dickens, M. R. James, the Brontë sisters
Foreign Fiction
e.g. Anton Chekhov, Aleksandr Pushkin, Nikolai Gogol, Albert Camus, Sebastian Japrisot
General Fiction
e.g. Margaret Atwood, Hunter S. Thompson
Children and Young Adults' Fiction
e.g. Roald Dahl, Enid Blyton, Arthur Ransome, Lisa J. Smith

At the moment I have decided against creating a separate section here for graphic novels. Currently they are catalogued by author/creator under the same genre headings as all other books.
