"C'mon guys.. one more chapter. Please!!!" Tanya persisted while the Migrator drove on. The ducks rolled their eyes. As a vacation, they had decided to head out to have a camping trip: Mallory hated the idea viciously; Wild Wing, on the other hand, immediately opted for it. To add to the whole team's annoyance, Tanya had stumbled upon a book on the ancient evils and magick of the world and was insisting on reading various chapters outloud to the team. "C'mon guys, just one more..."
"No!" The team yelled back. Tanya shrugged her shoulders and continued to read to herself quietly. Mallory sighed looking out the window.
"Wild Wing, Sweetie, wouldn't Jamaica or ANYWHERE besides here be a better idea for a vacation?"
"Mallory, listen, I'm uhtrying to be fair. The rest of the team really wanted to go camping... it's not that bad."
"The fuck it's not that bad! They don't even have flush toilets!" Mallory yelled, vividly remembering Phil's 'little talk' with Wild Wing after they had decided to go to the Bahamas. Now the ducks were off in the wilderness, and Phil was off making a big, fat franchise off of it.
"I'll make you S'Mores..." Wild Wing murmured apologetically. He hated being manipulated by Phil like this, but it was a deal and Wild Wing had no intention of going back on his word, even if it meant sacrificing his girlfriend's good favor for a few days. He'd make it up to her later.
"Two thousand one hundred forty seven sheep," Duke muttered. "Two thousand one hundred forty eight sheep... two thousand one hundred..."
"Duke, in the words of Tai Quack Doe... SHUT THE FUCK UP!!" Mara let out a soft giggle as Duke pretended to be offended.
"Aww man, Grin, you made me lose count. One sheep, two sheep, uh twelve..." Tanya looked up from her book.
"You know guys, there's a spell that can make you fall asleep... it goes..."
"Tanya!"
"Alright, alright." Tanya sighed as Mara curled up in Duke's arms. Looking towards the back of the Migrator, Tanya watched Amber and Nose Dive. The two held hands as they softly madeout in the back seat. Amber stopped kissing Nose Dive and leaned back, gazing into Nose Dive's eyes as he stroked her hair. Slowly, he rested his hand on her knee and began rubbing her leg, higher and higher with each stroke.
"DEER!!!" Wild Wing swerved off of the road as a fawn dashed infront of the car. The Migrator flipped over three times and finally came to a stop as it hit a tree. All the ducks except for Wild Wing and Grin were thrown across the floor.
"Unlike most people, I wear safety belts due to the number of deaths and injuries each year resulting from car accidents." Grin calmly said.
"Fuck you!" Mallory yelled back, picking herself off of the floor. "Wild Wing, I swear after this trip I'm gonna kill you or castrate you, whichever comes first!" Wild Wing wiped a hand across his forehead and gulped. Amber opened the door of the Migrator and walked out to look at the damage.
"Uh guys, uno problemo over here," she jittered. Wild Wing walked outside to the back of the Migrator--fire was streaming out of the engine and the wheels were torn up.
"HOLY SHIT!" Wild Wing yelled. The other ducks came running out of the Migrator.
"Wow, Wild Wing said his first swear word." Mara rolled her eyes sarcastically.
"Damn! Tanya, how long will it take you to fix it?" Wild Wing looked towards the team tech with concern.
"Um, that depends... probably a few months. We should call for road assistance and continue by foot," Tanya suggested, completely disgusting Mallory.
"Ahhhhh! THIS IS THE TRIP FROM HELL!!!!"
"Calm down, Mal." Grin said, putting a hand on her shoulder, "Sure, it's not the BAHAMAS, right WING?!" Wild Wing shrank back from Grin, embarassed once more. Grin continued, "But hey, as long as we're together, it'll be a fine vacation."
"Look on the bright side," Nose Dive chimed in, "Without the Migrator to transport us, Phil's whole publicity scheme is ruined." Mallory smiled at that.
"Hey, good point! That actually makes me feel somewhat better."
"C'mon guys, we'd better make camp somewhere. We can call for road side assistance from there." The ducks all picked up their packs, undamaged by the fall, and walked off into the woods, Wild Wing in the lead. They all climbed along a relatively wide path, littered with fallen trees, and overgrown weeds. Wild Wing went to help Mallory over a particularily wide log. She angrily snatched her hand away from him.
"I can do it myself." She said venomously. Wild Wing watched, wounded, as she climbed over the log.
"Oh, come on now, Wing," Mara said gently, "You know Mallory, she'll get over it."
"I hope so." Wing replied unhappily.
Duke put a hand on his shoulder, "Hey, sure she will. Besides, it's not like it's all your fault. We've all been conned in by Phil once and a while." Wild Wing smiled at them both.
"Thanks guys." Mara hugged him.
"What are friends for?" The ducks continued on, now with Mallory in the lead, and Duke, Mara, and Wild Wing taking up the rear. By nightfall, the camp had been set up. There were four large tents in all, one to every two ducks. Despite several protests from Mallory, she ended up with Wild Wing. "See? This isn't so bad, is it?" Mallory just glared at Wild Wing. He shrank back from her gaze and turned to Duke. "What'm I gonna do tonight?" He asked quietly. Duke smiled and punched Wild Wing in the shoulder.
"Load your puckblaster before you go to bed."
"Hey man, there's no water!" Nose Dive whined as he held his canteen upside-down.
"Cant you just go to the lake and get some? Or we could call the water if we say some... oh, the paper's blotted here." Tanya said disapointed. Nose Dive nodded his head.
"It's okay, I'm off to the lake. Be back in a few." He walked slowly down the steep path, almost completely overrun by thorn bushes. Nose Dive gingerly climbed over the foliage. When he had finally reached the banks of the lake, Nose Dive looked back up the path. With a sigh, he realized it was going to be hell trying to get back up to the camp again; he couldn't even see it anymore from the lake. As he stooped down to fill his canteen, Nose Dive didn't notice the bat hovering nearby.
The bat slowly circled, watching him closely. Then the bat materialized into a handsome duck with a long black cape, maybe in his twenties. "Damn," the duck muttered to himself. "Why'd I have to get the stupid one?" The duck crept up behind Nose Dive and tackled him, sinking his fangs into Nose Dive's neck.
After he awoke, Nose Dive stood up in front of the duck and bowed down to him on one knee. The duck smiled thinly, "That's better. I am Sibal. For ten thousand years I've lived here as a vampire, feeding on the humans. I've heard of you Mighty Ducks, and I have decided that I will make you all my slaves starting with you." Nose Dive got up once again and nodded blankly.
"As you wish, Dude." Sibal glared at him and slapped Nose Dive's face.
"Master...call me Master, not 'Dude', is that understood?"
"Yes Dude."
"Master!" Sibal yelled.
"Whatever." Nose Dive replied. Sibal turned from him, disgusted.
"Just listen. You are now a partial vampire. You may walk in daylight, but you only feed at night. In one week's time I want all of the ducks either immobilized or enslaved, is that understood?"
"You got it, Dude- I mean, Master." Nose Dive added quickly. Sibal hissed angrily and dissappeared into thin air, leaving Nose Dive alone once again. He climbed back up to the camp with ease.
"Hey Dive." Amber said before she kissed his cheek gently. Nose Dive stepped away from her and walked on.
"Hello, Amber." He said completely monotone. Amber watched as he walked off into their tent, wondering what was wrong with him.
"Come on, guys! Let's sit around the fire!" Wild Wing said enthusiastically.
"Oh joy. Kum-ba-yah with a bunch of hippies," Mallory sneered, sitting as far away from him as possible. She had been doing this kind of thing to him all day, and it was beginning to anger Wild Wing--he didn't bother to speak to her at all anymore.
Nose Dive walked out of his tent wearing dark sunglasses. The gang looked at him and laughed. "Good one, Dive," Grin teased playfully. Nose Dive looked confused.
"What do you mean?"
"The shades at night," Tanya explained, "Cute joke." Nose Dive stared at her for a moment before sitting down. Amber sat down beside him, nuzzling her beak into his neck. In response, Nose Dive moved away from her.
"Not now," he whispered. Duke stared at him and raised an eyebrow, knowing how Nose Dive was almost obsessed with public displays of affection... mostly to brag.
"Are you alright, Dive?" Nose Dive nodded wearily.
"Fine." Duke walked to him and took the sunglasses from his face. Nose Dive quickly shielded his eyes. "A little warning would be nice." Nose Dive snapped angrily.
"My apologies," Duke said coldly, handing him back the sunglasses. Duke sat down again warily, studying Dive carefully. Nose Dive looked right back at him. L'Orange would have to be kept quiet, but not just yet. Nose Dive turned to look at Amber. He knew exactly who his first victim would be...
Late that night, after everyone had gone off to bed, Nose Dive sat up in his tent alert. He looked over at Amber in the sleeping bag besides him--she'd dropped off hours ago. Nose Dive slowly crept over her, bringing his beak to her neck. Just then, Amber turned in her sleep, slapping Nose Dive right in the face. Nose Dive shook his head and leaned back, this time attempting for the other side of her neck. Amber rolled over again, elbowing Nose Dive's lower jaw. Disoriented, Nose Dive lost his balance and fell down on top of her. "Dive?" Amber asked groggily, "What the hell are you doing?"
"Uh..." Nose Dive stuttered. Amber cut him off with a sleepy smile. "Here, lemme show you my all purpose insomnia cure." Nose Dive kissed her gently on her neck and ran his tongue across it. After a few moments, when she was completely relaxed, Nose Dive sank his fangs into her. Amber didn't have time to scream; the piercing pain froze her vocal chords. After a few moments, she passed out.
When Amber awoke, it was still night time. Nose Dive was sitting beside her, smiling. Amber smiled back, "That's some insomnia cure." Amber sat up and crawled into Dive's lap.
"How do you feel, baby?" he asked.
"Hungry." she whispered back, running her tongue into his mouth. Nose Dive pulled away after a few minutes.
"The master requires all of the ducks to be in his control in one week." Amber nodded.
"Well then, we have to keep them here."
"By taking care of Wild Wing." Nose Dive smiled evily. "Drain enough of his blood to make him lose conciousness, and we're in business." Amber frowned slightly, dissatisfied with her assignment.
"Maybe I'm not as hungry as I thought I was. Why don't we just... stay in." Amber brushed her small breasts against his shoulder as she spoke. Nose Dive pushed her off.
"Business first."
"Very well then." Amber sighed pulling herself away from Nose Dive. "As you wish." Slowly, she crept out of the tent. Looking towards Wild Wing's tent her eyes flickered red. Wild Wing was sitting by the burnt out ashes in the campfire alone. Amber slowly slunk towards him. Wild Wing turned around feeling her breath on the back of his neck.
"Hey Amber, you're up late... and what's with your eyes?" Amber stood back slightly suprised. This would be harder than she thought...
"Eyes?"
"Yeah, you're eyes normally are amber colored and at night seem yellow... now they have streaks of red through them. Did you get contacts or something?" Amber paused, realizing that there were visual side effects.
"Yeah," she murmered sliding closer to Wild Wing. "Do you wanna go for a walk?" Wild Wing shrugged his shoulders and rose to his feet. They began walking along one of the trails. After about twenty minutes, Amber stopped and looked around her. Amber closed her eyes knowing what she had to do. "Wing, forget Mal."
"WHAT?! Where'd that come from?" Wild Wing came face to face with Amber. Amber looked up cold and defiant.
"Forget that wannabee-wench. She doesn't respect your ideas or anything and she treats you like shit," Amber walked closer to Wing. "She keeps on telling you to do stuff with her and when you want to, she backs off."
"Amber, what the hell are you saying?! I love Mallory!" Wild Wing defended.
"Really? Or do you love these?" Amber slowly pulled her shirt off. Wild Wing paused, staring wide eyed at Amber's chest.
"Amber, I don't think-"
"Shut up and come here," Amber demanded, "this is what you really want. Remember the fun we used to have when we dated?" Amber leaned back against one of the trees, unbuckling the belt she had on. Slowly, she slid her pants down. When she motioned to him, Wild Wing's face seemed to freeze. As though drawn to her, he walked slowly towards Amber. She smiled happily--apparently Amber had the power of hypnosis too. This night was just getting better and better. Amber kissed Wild Wing as he ran his hands around her body. He kissed down her body pausing at her breasts to suck them and then licked down to eat her out. Amber let out a moan; for victimizing him, she was feeling really good. When Wild Wing stopped, Amber quickly unbuckled his pants and began kissing down his neck. Wild Wing grabbed Amber's hand and moved it under his boxers. Amber smiled knewing she had Wild Wing caught and sunk her fangs into his thick neck. Wild Wing let out a small yelp as Amber began draining his blood. Momentarily, he collapsed. She smiled down at him. "Sweet dreams." He wasn't too bad for a first meal. Amber quickly rearranged Wild Wing's clothes and dragged him across the ground. She tilted him towards the end of the lake, hooking his foot on a tree root. Pulling off her canteen, she dropped it open by Wild Wing's hand... it seemed like a mere accident. Amber quickly pulled her shirt back on as she saw light breaking the borderline of the mountain tops. She ran as fast as she could back into the tent. Nose Dive sat on one of the sleeping bags pulling out sunglasses from a backpack. "I got him," Amber smiled proudly, "And no one'll figure out how." Nose Dive looked up momentarily.
"Nice. Not thrilling, but nice." Amber paused, slightly hurt.
"Well then, let me thrill you," Amber jumped on top of Nose Dive who immediately shoved her off. Amber was about to pout when a loud shriek was heard. Amber and Nose Dive grabbed their sunglasses as they took off toward the sound. It was Mallory. Wild Wing lay on the ground motionless, right where Amber had left him. He moaned as Grin picked him up. The ducks immediately brought him back to where they set up camp. "He's got a fever... no marks, that's strange. Probably a concussion from the fall. He's gonna be out for a while." Tanya said gravely. Mallory stared at him, guilt stricken. Duke and Grin walked over to her to comfort her while Tanya ran tests on Wild Wing. Mara looked towards Amber and Nose Dive who were almost motionless.
"Don't worry, Dive... I'm sure everything will be just fine." Mara said quietly. Nose Dive nodded his head eyeing Mara. Mara took a step back from him involuntarily. She walked off, trying to shake away the shudder that ran down her spine when Nose Dive looked at her. Nose Dive leaned over to Amber.
"Remind me to make your half-sister a vampyre," he whispered. Amber glared at him.
"What the hell does that mean?" she demanded.
"Shhhh!" Nose Dive hissed, "Someone will hear you."
"Listen, you're mine, got it?" Nose Dive laughed at her dryly.
"Amber, I'm the one the master picked first, so I'm in charge. That means that I get whatever I want. So I suggest you should be a bit nicer if you want me to pay you any attention at all." Amber glared at him angrily, but bowed her head slightly.
"Fine. If you want nice, you've got it, oh Great One." Nose Dive rolled his eyes and walked away from her, slamming straight into Duke. Nose Dive glared up at him.
"We're going to be here a while," Duke muttered, "so don't bother packing...Great One." Nose Dive turned to stare at Duke as he walked off to his tent. He obviously didn't know that they were vampyres, otherwise he would've taken action, but still, Duke was dangerous.
"Amber." he called back to her.
"Yes?" she asked eagerly.
"Duke knows too much, I want him gone tonight." Amber frowned slightly, knowing that wasn't exactly the command she'd been hoping for, but still not a terrible thing. "Want me to turn him into a vampyre?" Nose Dive paused in thought; Duke was quicker and stronger than him, so he would be very likely to shake Nose Dive's command. Besides, if he wanted Mara, then it was best to put Duke completely out of the picture.
"No," he said finally, " Drain him... more than Wild Wing. I don't want Duke waking up." Amber nodded, an easy enough assignment.
"And what will YOU be doing toinght?" "Making my mark on one of the girls." Nose Dive replied, walking off.
"Which one?" Amber asked herself angrily, walking off.
That night, just after midnight, Sibal appeared before both Amber and Nose Dive. "Ah, I see you've made progress." Sibal said cooly. Nose Dive nodded.
"Yes, Dude-uh, Master. The leader has been drained, we'll be here for at least a few more days."
"Exellent!" Sibal exclaimed.
"It was my idea, Master!" Nose Dive yelped quickly. Amber elbowed him.
"Was not!" Sibal smiled at her, silencing Amber.
"My, what a pretty young thing you are." he said quietly.
"Thank you, Master." she murmured, staring into his black eyes.
"Ah yes, there is one more condition which I forgot to inform you of," Sibal said to Nose Dive. "When all of the ducks have been taken, I will chose from among the girls which is to be my bride." Nose Dive looked suprised.
"Uh, Master, considering that I'm your second in command, may I keep one for myself?" Sibal looked at him carefully.
"We shall see," he said darkly. Sibal dissappeared into the night. Amber smiled, slipping her arms around Nose Dive's waist.
"Nice of you to think of me like that for your girl." Nose Dive stepped away from her.
"Yeah...sure." Amber glared at him. "Now we've got work to do. You go take Duke...I'll bring Mara to our tent." Amber's face turned red.
"What? why?" she demanded angrily.
"I'm going to make her one of us." Nose Dive snapped.
"Well? Why not in her own tent?" Amber said frantically, " I can always take Duke out...in fact, why don't I get Mara? After all she's MY sister. Better yet, maybe we should wait another night for her, two from the same tent's a bit suspicious..." Nose Dive simply walked away from her, ignoring Amber. Infuriated, Amber sat down on a log and watched Nose Dive. Closing his eyes, Nose Dive stretched out his hand towards Duke and Mara's tent. After a few moments, Mara stepped out in a long, black robe. With a gesture of his hand, Mara walked to Nose Dive.
"Amber, go." Amber glared at him a moment longer before getting up and walking to the tent. "Oh, and Amber?" She turned around eagerly. "Take your time." Nose Dive said with a smile, staring at Mara. Sputtering incoherently, Amber watched as Mara followed Nose Dive into his tent blindly. With a growl, she walked into Duke's tent. He was still fast asleep. Amber sat beside him.
"That asshole." she muttered, "I'll kill him...no...I'll kill her, fuck him, and THEN kill him!" Amber looked towards Duke as he turned in his sleep. "You wouldn't do this to a girl when you turned into a vampyre, would you Duke?" Amber tilted her head to the side and looked at him carefully. Duke was like a brother to her...hell, he almost was one. Even before he'd met Mara he was friends with her. "Can I really do this to him?" she murmured quietly. Amber looked back at him and narrowed her eyes, knowing the answer. If it was for Nose Dive, yes. Besides, in nothing but his boxers, Duke looked pretty hot. Amber smacked herself upside the head. "What the hell am I saying?!" Amber decided she'd better get go through with it before she did something she'd REALLY regret. Amber quickly sank her teeth into Duke's neck.
"Sit." Nose Dive demanded. Mara obediantly sat down on the floor of the tent. Moving towards her, Nose Dive thought briefly about how much he was going to enjoy this. He slowly opened her robe to reveal a silky black slip. Nose Dive muttered a curse to himself; it was opaque. "Oh well," Nose Dive said with an easy smile, pulling off her robe completely and tossing it to the side. "I'll be seeing more of you soon enough." He pushed her hair back, exposing her neck, and kissed her. Mara remained immoble, lifeless. As he continued to kiss her, Nose Dive moved one hand up her slip, rubbing her back. He slowly bit her neck. Mara let out a small gasp before passing out. Moments later, Mara opened her eyes and stretched, sitting up. "Good morning." Nose Dive said, grinning at her.
"Hiya!" Mara said brightly. Nose Dive sighed and rolled his eyes. Being a vampire was fun, but he could certainly do without the personality shifts that took place. First Amber turned into a total whore and now this? Mara was a complete air head. It didn'tt relly matter much either way to Nose Dive. Although he would have preferred Mara's old personality intact, her mind didn't really play much of a part in what he wanted her for. "This is cool..." Mara said happily, "So, I like, go around and kill people?" Nose Dive nodded slowly.
"Uh, yeah but not just yet." Mara looked at him, confused.
"No? Well what am I supposed to do now?"
"Take your slip off." Nose Dive demanded. Mara stared blankly into space for a moment before replying.
"Oh. Okay!" Mara began to pull her slip off when Amber walked in.
"Nose Dive!" she yelled angrily, "What the hell are you doing?!"
"Uh...nothing!" he said nervously, "Right Mara??"
"Yeah, he just told me to take my slip off, that's all."
"WHAT?!" yelled Amber. Mara stared at her blankly.
"Hey...are you angry or something?" Amber glared at Nose Dive. He shrank away from her...yes, he would have definitely preferred Mara with her old personality...
"Heh, heh," Dive laughed nervously, "Just as a joke." Amber glared walking towards Nose Dive.
"Joke on me."
The light brightened as Tanya slowly opened her eyes. She sensed that something wasn't right. It was too quiet. Walking out into the light, she looked towards the other tents. Not a single noise. "Great, first Wild Wing gets hurt, now the teams quiet, what's gonna happen next?!" She walked out of her tent, looking around. "Duke? DUKE!!!" She walked into his tent quickly, hoping he knew what was going on. Tanya froze, staring at Duke. Duke was lying on his sleeping bag, still unconcious. Tanya quickly felt his forehead; Duke was burning up. "Duke? What happened?" Taking his pulse, Tanya determined that he was still alive, barely. Tanya began examining him, pausing at Duke's neck. There was a mark and a slight bump. "Must have been a spider... or the devil," Tanya whispered, wiping off Duke's forehead. Mara walked in and paused, looking at Duke. For a moment, she seemed to revert back to normal.
"Duke?" Mara sat beside him and shook him. "Duke?" Mara looked up at Tanya, confused, "Why isn't he moving?" Tanya shook her head.
"I dunno, Mara." Mara stared at her for a minute.
"Oh. Okay." With that, she got up and walked out. Tanya began to shake involuntarily. Normally Mara would've been devastated when she found out something was wrong with Duke...maybe even in tears. Instead, she had acted like it was nothing.
"What the hell is wrong with everybody?!" After about two hours, Duke still looked very sick, but he was in stable condition. Tanya decided it was time to take action. Stepping out of the tent, she nearly collided into Amber.
"WHOA!!!" Amber yelped as she skidded, slipping on the wet leaves under her. Tanya grabbed Amber's arm, steadying her. Amber's body jerked back with the pull, sending Amber's sunglasses to the ground. Amber yelped, clawing Tanya's arm and dove on the ground. Tanya grabbed Amber pulling her back. Amber started weaving back and forth and suddenly collasped. Tanya stared at the frail figure of her friend, wondering what the hell was happening. Tanya kneeled next to her friend, feeling for a pulse. Tanya slowly paused around Amber's neck... two parrallel dots, almost unnoticable. "Intresting," Tanya whispered almost inaudibly, "either Nose Dive got very roudy last night or..." Tanya quickly leaned closer. Could it possibly be? She moved her hand toward Amber's face, lifting her eyelid back... her eyes were red. Tanya froze, it all made sense now. She dropped Amber to the ground and spun around, coming face to face with Nose Dive. "Uh Dive... Amber! She's almost dead or something!!!" Tanya tried to cover as Nose Dive continued his gaze. Sliently, she wished she could see his eyes through the sunglasses. Nose Dive quietly looked toward the ground where Amber lay. Softly, he felt her neck for a pulse and picked her up.
"She needs a dark room... she'll be better in 12 hours." Tanya watched as Nose Dive walked to the tent. She had twelve hours to figure out what the hell to do... Nose Dive glared at Amber as she slept: she was becoming a real problem for him. Slowly she stirred. Nose Dive slapped her face causing Amber to moan and sit up. "You little wench... what the hell did you think you were doing?!" Amber cringed back terrified. "You stupid, stupid girl... you blew our cover! Now we have to transform the rest tonight!!!"
"I'm sorry, I didn't know! I tripped, that's all." Nose Dive glared menancingly at Amber.
"This whole thing is your fault, now I have to do all the work at once. Maybe we should just cut you out of the picture." Amber stepped back from Nose Dive.
"Dive, please, no... I'm begging you!" She dropped on her knees.
"Get up, you little whore!" Amber's eyes began watering.
"Nose Dive, please," she whispered. Nose Dive shook his head and turned away. "I'll do anything!" Nose Dive continued walking. "NOSE DIVE!!!" Amber ran after him, pulling off her clothes. "See! Look! You want some, you have some! I wont fight, I wont tell!!! Don't leave me here!!!" Nose Dive stopped and looked at her and he shook his head.
"Get out of my sight. I have work to do." Amber stared at him as Nose Dive stormed off. She felt ashamed and embarassed. Amber collapsed on the ground, sobbing hysterically. Maybe Nose Dive was right and she was just a desparate whore. After an hour of gazing up at the trees, deep in thought, she slowly got up and pulled her clothes back on. She trudged slowly back to the camp, pausing outside of the tent used for the infirmary. She glanced around quickly making sure she was alone before she walked in. Wild Wing and Duke were both asleep and in bad condition. Amber walked towards them nervously.
"You two wouldn't ever hurt your girlfriend would you?" No reply. "Well, you wouldn't scream at her either, right?" Still, silence. Amber closed her eyes almost crying when Wild Wing opened his eyes. He moaned lightly. Amber watched him, wondering what she should do. Quickly, she leaned forward and bit his neck, draining his remaining blood. Wild Wing collapsed once again. Amber smiled. "Now you'll be one of us. You can be my friend." Amber walked slowly out of the tent bumping right into Nose Dive and Mara.
"What the hell were you doing in there?" Nose Dive demanded. Amber stepped back.
"That's for me to know and you to find out." Amber turned her back to Nose Dive and began walking away. Amber was forced to the ground without warning as Nose Dive slammed his fist into the back of her neck. Amber quickly swung her legs around knocking Nose Dive over. Mara stood back and watched as the two clawed at each other. She looked very confused.
"I don't think this is good..."
"Shut up! This is all your fault, Bitch!!!" Amber screamed, looking up at her as she kicked at Nose Dive. Dive grabbed her by the throat and threw her against a tree. He laughed cruelly.
"Too bad you're a vampyre; if you were mortal you'd be bleeding."
"I'm no dinner plate." Amber muttered, sening her knee right into his stomach. Nose Dive doubled over in pain, falling onto the ground. With one last look at Nose Dive, Amber walked off, shoving Mara out of her way. Nose Dive glared at Amber and looked up at Mara, "I have half a mind to kill her immediately. Come on, we don't have much time. Get Grin, and tell him to get Mallory." Mara looked at Nose Dive blankly.
"Okay!" She skipped off towards Grin's tent. Peering in she saw Grin meditating silently. Running up behind him she sank her fangs into his neck. One thing Sibal didn't count on: Grin's medatative state protected him for certain forms of magick...that included vampyres. Grin looked at Mara with horror realizing what was happening. "Are you a vampyre yet?" She asked perkily. Grin paused a moment.
"Uh yes, yes I am... I'm uh, hungry..."
"Oh, well Dive said for you to get Mallory and Tanya."
"I'll uh, do that now."
"Kay! Buh bye, Grinny!" Mara hugged him and walked out of the tent. Grin quickly ran out of the tent. He HAD to find Tanya...
Tanya and Mallory sat together in a tent. Mallory couldn't believe what Tanya was saying about vampyres loose in the camp, but Tanya was her best friend and they shared a lot of confidential secrets, so Mallory considered it her duty to hear her out.
"Tanya, you gotta be outta your mind... vampyres? Wouldn't we have noticed it by now?"
"What about the personality changes?" Mallory hesistated.
"Well, Amber's had WAY too much sex in her life so she probably said 'to hell with acting prude' and let loose; Nose Dive was always an ass; and Mara..." Mallory's voice trailed off. She liked Mara a lot and felt close to her, almost as close as Tanya. Mallory sighed, "Maybe something weird's going on..." Grin ran through the tent closing the doors. The two looked at him with concern.
"Houston, we have a problem."
Nose Dive wrapped his arms around Mara as they sat by the fire. He softly kissed her neck. Amber quietly watched from a distance, completely miserable. Tanya and Mallory gasped as they watched this scene from their tent.
"This is insane." Mallory whispered.
"We're supposed to be vampyres," Grin explained, "If we want this to work, we have to play along." Tanya closed her eyes; this was very bad. Amber finally walked closer to the fire.
"Ahem...don't you think that the Master wants us to nab the rest of the ducks before you start playing your games?" Nose Dive glared at Amber.
"I'm surprised you have the nerve to speak back to your superiors..."
"Yeah, superior this!" The ducks spun around; Wild Wing stood in the light. He smiled at them, baring his teeth. His fangs glistened in the moonlight. "Hey, where's the food?! I'm hungry, dammit!" Nose Dive looked up at him in shock, and then at Amber.
"Did I TELL you to make him one of us?!" he said angrily. Amber backed away from him.
"He was waking up, I had no choice. I had to stop him before he alerted the others." Wild Wing looked up happily.
"Yeah, that's it! The others. They'll do fine for a first meal." Nose Dive shook his head.
"Sorry...brother..." he spat out with contempt, "They've already been taken care of, right Mara?" Mara nodded.
"Yup!"
"Where are they, anyway?" Amber murmured absent mindedly, "They should be out here by now."
"Sorry we're late," Mallory said smoothly, walking out with Grin and Tanya, "Just having a bit of a chat." Wild Wing crossed his arms.
"Damn you Grin, damn you! I was gonna have dinner..."
"Why don't you completely drain Amber then?" Nose Dive suggested advancing toward her. Amber stepped back.
"I told you it was an accident..." Nose Dive advanced again.
"Do you wanna take this out back?" Amber gulped, stepping back again. Nose Dive swung at Amber but she back flipped out of the way. Amber fought back boxkicking Nose Dive in the chest, but he grabbed her leg and flipped her over. Amber swung her legs around knocking Nose Dive down once more. Nose Dive grabbed Amber's boot as she tried to pull away. Mallory, Tanya, and Grin's eyes widened as the fight intensified. Suddenly Amber swung her arm around knocking Nose Dive off balance. She leapt into the air swinging her legs around, she was flying. Nose Dive stepped away from Amber, his legs shaking as she hovered in the air. Amber lifted her arms up as her eyes blazed red with firey streaks. Nose Dive slowly kneeled down before her completely terrified. Amber advanced to him, walking on air.
"You aren't meant to lead a group this large. From now on I am your superior, all of yours. Your superior." Amber looked past Nose Dive. "Wild Wing, you are my second in command..." Nose Dive gasped shocked. He jumped up, forgetting Amber was hovering and box kicked her. Quickly, she fell to the ground. Nose Dive looked at her; she wasn't moving. Kneeling down he smiled... she was only knocked out. It was only a temporary burst of power resulting from her anger.
'But what if I could control that power? Or drain it?' he wondered. He broke his glaze as he noticed Wild Wing licking his lips at Amber. "What do you want?" Nose Dive snarled.
"That is one fine piece of meat," Wild Wing commented.
"Yeah so?"
"I want some of that." Nose Dive slapped Wild Wing.
"Don't you see that she poses a threat?! She's useless!"
"Now isn't that an oxymoron, a useless threat?" Nose Dive glared, holding up his hand to strike him again before setting it down.
"Listen, why don't you just fuck off?"
"I wanted to before..." Wild Wing's voice trailed off as Nose Dive looked disgusted.
"It is a disgrace to be related to someone like you, Wild Wing." The two brothers glared at each other. Wild Wing turned his back to Nose Dive, walking to Amber who was still unconscious on the ground. Her clothes were ripped because of the fights with Nose Dive, and she looked frail. Wild Wing leaned closer to Amber. Mallory clenched her fists; she still remembered Amber and Wild Wing's past relationship and envied the closeness the two shared. Tanya quickly steadied Mallory's arm and whispered.
"You have to ignore it or they'll seek us out!" Mallory turned her face away as Wild Wing began licking Amber's neck. Suddenly, there was a hushed silence. Tanya, Mallory, and Grin's eyes widened as they saw him.
"Hey Dude, uh I mean Master," Nose Dive quickly covered.
"MASTER! CALL ME MASTER, DAMMIT!" Sibal yelled fiercely. Nose Dive nodded bowing his head to Sibal. Sibal looked around, "Nice work." Nose Dive smiled broadly.
"Yeah, it was nothing. Got the whole team to the other side... well, except Duke but we took care of him."
"Good, you have completely immobilized and enslaved all the Mighty Ducks in only 3 days time... Excellent." Mara looked at Sibal confused.
"Yeah, but like what about Amber? Like, didn't she like change the most ducks out of all of us?" Nose Dive spun around to face Mara.
"No she didn't. She got Wild Wing, that's it." Sibal watched quietly.
"You loser," Wild Wing laughed still sitting next to Amber, "She got Duke also and helped with getting the rest... she made me not only immobilized but then changed me into one of you." Sibal stroked a hand under his beak.
"Interesting..." Nose Dive began to panic.
"It was my idea though! I gave her the commands and she helped complete them. I got her and Mara and then they helped me..." Sibal raised a hand to silence Nose Dive. "It's another day out camping for us." Wild Wing picked up Amber and began carrying her. Nose Dive spun around.
"What the fuck do you think you're doing?!?!"
"I want some of this, so I'm taking it." Wild Wing smiled, "Besides... she's real good in bed." Mallory choked, falling forward; she had been trying to forget about Amber and Wild Wing's past relationship and the reasons for their "sudden" break up. Mallory shivered; the last thing she wanted was for Wild Wing to bang Amber up against his own will but then again, what if he'd do it anyway? Mallory shook her head in disgust; Wild Wing was too good for that. Sibal paused watching Mallory out of the corner of his eye: she was watching Wild Wing too much and didn't have the drastic changes in attitude that occured when bitten. Quickly, he spun around and sank his fangs into Mallory's neck. She let out a shriek before passing out. Tanya and Grin held hands tightly as Sibal turned to face them.
"You degenerate lifeforms! Wasn't it obvious enough that she wasn't one of you?! Her personality wasn't altered at all! You all should be ashamed!" Sibal shifted his gaze to Tanya and Grin, "For example, didn't your personality use to be different before you were under my control?" Grin looked at Tanya before clearing his throat.
"Like man, yo, what are you talking about? Cuz maybe what happened with our old personalities was that we were all hanging out and getting some boag and we said, 'Whoa, our old innerselves were really draggin'.' So then the Mushroom people came and like said, 'It's good ol' Mary Jane,' and we went frolicking with them in the fields and became groovy and all that with a bag of potato chips." Wild Wing began laughing.
"Ya know what Grin, I think you smoked one too many joints today." Sibal raised an eyebrow but shrugged his shoulders.
"You," he said pointing to Grin, "Carry her to the castle and you," he pointed to Nose Dive, "Take the immobilized one." Nose Dive looked disgusted as he walking into a tent and carried Duke out over his shoulder.
"God damnit that son of a bitch," Nose Dive muttered angerly. Grin carried Mallory as he walked next to Tanya. Tanya quickly pulled Grin aside.
"Why did you choose a druggie attitude?" Grin looked at Tanya quietly.
"Could you picture me dumb?" Tanya nodded her head.
"Good point, Grin." Grin paused as he felt Mallory stir. Grin set her on her feet. Tanya looked at her best friend with concern.
"Mallory, are you okay?" Mallory was silent as she looked Tanya in the eyes.
"Je suis bien, pourquoi est-ce que tu questiones moi?" Tanya stepped back.
"No, Mallory, you didn't turn into a French vampyre... did you?" Mallory put her hands on her hips in defense.
"Est-ce que tu as une probleme avec ma parlais?!?! Tu es une chavre! Je te deteste!" Tanya cringed back as Mallory spurred off in french before storming off toward the front of the group.
"Grin, did you understand anything she said at all?"
"My inner sense and tranquility tells me that she just has bad karma but from studying french in 8th grade... I think that she just called you a bitch that she hated." Tanya leaned her head down depressed.
"I thought so." Grin looked toward Tanya sympathetically.
"Hey come on, she doesn't mean it. Every one's different and we're gonna find a way to cure them... we have to." Tanya sighed looking at Tanya.
"But what if Sibal gets us first?"
"Hey, they attempted it on me before and it didn't work then... we'll make it. We have to." Mara skipped up beside Sibal.
"Hey Master-guy." Sibal rolled his eyes and turned to Nose Dive.
"It's a shame about her personality...she would have been an asset with her previous mindset intact." Nose Dive nodded.
"That reminds me...before you were talking about maybe letting me chose my own girl?"
"Ah yes..." Sibal hissed, "I must chose my bride." He turned his head to study Tanya, which he had been doing frequently on the road up to his castle. "And I think I have made my choice."
When they reached the castle, Sibal led them into the main hall. "Now then my slaves, I shall chose my bride from among you." He turned to Tanya and smiled at her, showing his fangs. "Congratulations, my dear." Tanya went pale.
"I'm honored, Master." she murmured. Grin supressed a yell.
"Now then, wake the small one up and place the thief in one of the bedchambers to the right. He shall be made one of us later. After the wedding you shall all become vampyres permanently." Sibal commanded. Grin carried Duke off to a bedroom while Wild Wing shook Amber.
"Hey babes, wakey wakey." Amber opened her eyes and sat up, rubbing her head. She immeadiately lunged at Nose Dive. Sibal laughed, watching the two of them fight.
"Yes, this is amusing." Mara tugged on his sleeve.
"Y'know, I'm like, starting to get the idea they don't like each other." Sibal separated them with a small movement of his hand.
"Enough. You shall all go and make preparations for the wedding, but first I'll do something about the dark one's personality before she drives me insane." Sibal waved a hand over Mara's face. She closed her eyes. When Mara opened them, they had returned to their customary shade of jade. She smiled coldly, bowing slightly to Sibal.
"My gratitude, Master."
"Much better." he said happily, "Now then all of you, to work...except for you, my darling." he said to Tanya.
"You must come with me." Frightened, Tanya followed him out.
"Glad to see you're back to normal." Nose Dive said, trying to put his arms around Mara. Mara punched him in the face.
"I certainly am, you mindless lap dog. To think I almost let you...ugh! Looks like you'll have to pry your two-cent whore away from your idiot brother if you want to see any action. Now if you'll excuse me, I have business to attend to." Nose Dive watched in amazement as she walked off.
"Damn." he muttered angrily. He stalked off into another room, looking for Wild Wing. Grin put Duke down on the bed carefully.
"Boy do I wish you were awake..." he murmured unhappily. Grin walked out of the room closing the door behind him, and walked down the hallway.
"Hello, Grin." He turned to see Mara behind him.
"Mara! I-uh, been visiting the happy flower mushroom men. They fly high in the sky and-"
"Save it Grin. I know you're lying." Grin backed into the wall.
"What?" Mara walked up to him and smiled.
"Sibal made a miscalculation...he tried to alter my personality and ended up changing me back into a normal duck. I managed to fool him into thinking I was still a vampyre." Grin relaxed.
"Thank God! I'm so glad to hear it...you've got to help!" Mara smiled coldly, pressing against him. "Don't worry Grin," she said, showing her fangs, "I'll help you." Mara sank her teeth into his neck. When he'd hit the ground, she laughed. "Fool." Mara walked off down the hallway, looking for Duke. Tanya froze standing by her doorway.
"You said you'd always be there for me Grin... what am I gonna do now?" Tanya closed her eyes letting tears run down her face. She felt the lonliness of being the only "Duck" left besides Duke, who was paralyzed, and she was supposed to marry Sibal. The sight of her friends becoming vampyres and their personalities being changed wasn't a help either. Closing her door she fell on her bed but jumped up feeling a jab in her side. Quickly she pulled her book out of her pocket. "Dealing with the Wonders of the Unknown Magicks," Tanya whispered. She flipped through the pages, "Witches, Warewolves, Trolls, Gnomes, Giants, Mutants, Vampires!" She opened up to that directory but froze, "Ancient, Satanic, Mutant, Psychic, and Day Walkers... how am I gonna know which one?" Tanya shook her head settling down in her bed as she began to read the whole vampyre directory. After a brief lookthrough, she pulled out a silver chain with an oynx on it. Tanya narrowed her eyes, adjusting her glasses; she was ready.
Wild Wing threw a bright yellow streamer across the room at Amber's head. "Hey, watch it!" she yelled angrily. Wild Wing shrugged.
"Just trying to get you to lighten up." Amber pulled out a chair and sat down.
"Yeah, well you're doing a bad job." Wild Wing sat beside her.
"You're so whiny! Dive doesn't want you so get over it! Instead of pouting about it, why don't you just find yourself another guy?"
"Like who?"
"Like me." Amber froze and looked at Wild Wing. Immediately, she began to laugh.
"Good one Wing."
"I'm serious." Amber stepped back, looking at him.
"No way, Wing. We already tried this once before..." Wild Wing smiled throwing another streamer at Amber's head.
"Come on, it would be fun. It'd take your mine off of my asshole of a brother..." Wild Wing advanced toward Amber sliding his hands around her back.
"Wing, I can't... I love Nose Dive."
"But he sure as hell doesn't like or want you. I want you badly..." Amber closed her eyes as Wild Wing slid his hands up the back of her shirt.
"I... can't... let... my... self... no..." She tried to speak but choked on her words; maybe she could make Nose Dive jealous. Smiling, she slid her body close to Wild Wing's. Nose Dive walked in the door.
"WHAT THE FUCK ARE YOU DOING TO HER?!?!?!" Amber stepped back, amazed.
"Wow, that worked fast." Wild Wing glared at Nose Dive.
"Fuck off asswipe, the babe's mine."
"You loser, she is so mine!" Nose Dive yelled back. Amber watched amazed.
"Damn, I gotta do this more often." Suddenely Amber felt a cold breath down the back of her neck. She turned around to face Sibal.
"Uh... Master..." She bowed down to him. He looked down at her shaking his head.
"I thought you originally had more morals than this, VanDrake."
"Master Sibal, I'm sorry..."
"Silence!" Wild Wing brushed a hand back through his hair.
"Uh Master, did she like get in trouble?" Sibal smiled.
"Let's not put it in those terms ... Deep shit sounds a whole lot more reasonable." Amber's knees started shaking as Sibal sharply spoke to her. Sibal waved his hand.
"Enough! We must prepare for my marriage... Amber, you must drive the horse carriage." Amber's eyes opened.
"You have horses here?"
"Yeah, useless things... go now and practice driving smoothly, as for you two..." he motioned toward Nose Dive and Wild Wing.
"Redo these decorations, they're not classy at all." As Sibal walked out Nose Dive and Wild Wing flipped him off, "AND WATCH YOUR BEHAVIOR!!!" he yelled behind him. Wild Wing rolled his eyes.
"he's prolly just envious cuz he hasn't gotten some since the stone age!"
"Shut up you bastard!" Nose Dive spat out, "Because of YOU I'm losing my status as numero uno Employee!"
"Aww man... thanks." Nose Dive looked at Wild Wing with suprise.
"Thanks? This is terrible!" Wild Wing looked confused.
"Terrible that I'm better than you?"
Amber walked through the halls looking for the stables. Tanya peered out the door and watched as Amber had a smile. Closing her eyes, she hoped that she would be able to return her back to normal.
"Hey Amber," Tanya called. "Hey Tanya, wanna see the horses?"
"Sure," Tanya's voice trailed off as she followed Amber. Amber froze as she watched them. Eight beautiful all black horses grazed in a field.
"They're gorgeous," Amber whispered. Tanya pulled out the onyx and stared into it, focusing the center on Amber and the horses. "Evil within come back and forever be trapped in this cord 'round my neck," she whispered. Amber's knees shook violently as she grabbed her neck, gasping for air. Tanya watched with terror as Amber crumpled to the ground. "Oh no! What have I done?!" She rushed up to Amber's side. "Oh Amber, how could I?!" Amber slowly opened her eyes.
"Tanya?"
"AMBER!" Quickly, Tanya embraced Amber. "Amber, are you alright?"
"What the hell is going on?" Tanya looked into Amber's eyes, smiling as she realized the red was gone.
"Amber, do you remember Sibal?" Amber froze thinking.
"Sibal... I almost... Wild Wing..." Amber broke out in a cold sweat, "Nose Dive! Where's Nose Dive?! We have to get him back!!! Oh my God, I can't believe I was a sidevamp!" Tanya grabbed Amber's shoulders and looked her square into the eyes.
"Don't worry, I cured you, didn't I? I can only use that trick once, but I think I know a way to get the others too before it's too late. Come on, I have a plan!"
Mara looked down at Duke, wondering exactly how he would act if she turned him into a vampire. "Only one way to find out." she whispered, leaning close to his neck.
"Well, well, well, look who it is." Mara straightened up and glared at Nose Dive.
"What do you want?" she said darkly. Nose Dive smiled at her.
"Oh, nothing. I've just got a message for you from Sibal. You're not supposed to touch him until after the wedding." Mara hissed angrily.
"What?!"
"You heard me, Bitch."
"You're bluffing." Mara growled. Nose Dive grinned happily.
"Wanna take that chance?" Mara walked over to him menacingly.
"I hate bad news...and I hate waiting...but most of all, I hate you."
"Did anyone ever tell you how cute you look when you get angry?" Mara grabbed him by the throat and lifted him into the air.
"Hmmm..." she said playfully, "What shall I do while I wait?" Just then, Mallory walked in. Mara dropped Dive to the ground, knowing full well that Sibal disapproved of fighting among the ranks. "Hello, Mallory." she said coldly.
"Bonjour." Mallory replied, looking around the room. Mara stepped on Nose Dive's stomach, noticing him trying to escape.
"Are you looking for something?" she asked Mallory impatiently, anxious to kill Nose Dive.
"Oui." Mallory replied, "Ou est les toilettes, s'il vous plait?" Nose Dive spun his leg around from under him and knocked Mara to the ground. He leapt up into the air and dodged out of the room. Mara growled angerly as Nose Dive left so easily. "Est-ce que tu as une probleme?" Mallory asked curiously. Mara turned to Mallory with hate written across her face.
"I hate him..." she muttered under her breath. Mara's eyes flashed red as she spoke and her voice was harsh. It was the spite of hatred stirring her up inside. Nose Dive ran through the base, colliding into Amber and Tanya.
"OWWW! HEY! WHAT THE..." Nose Dive cut himself off before he finished his sentence. "Amber," he whispered, ignoring Tanya, "where'va ya been? C'mon, we're gonna blow this joint..." Nose Dive slid his arm around Amber's waist. Amber quivered at his touch; she knew that she couldn't break character from her old personality but she couldn't bring herself to do this. Tanya interupted.
"Da Dive, Sibal said that no one was to be disturbed tonight..." Nose Dive glared at her.
"I'm the one in command so back off... besides, it's already taken care of." Amber looked at Tanya.
"Taken Care Of?" They said. Nose Dive nodded his head.
"Since your sister changed, I'm to have anyone else and personally, I'd rather have a whore that's inlove with me than a Prude, French-only speaking duck so get over here." Amber reluctantly walked toward Nose Dive. "Whassamatter? Isn't this what you wanted?" Nose Dive asked as he slid a hand up Amber's shirt. Tanya let out a shriek and took off running; she had to get the ducks back to normal before it was too late. Nose Dive laughed, "What's her problem? Envious that you're getting some and she has to wait until Sibal's night with her?" Amber stepped back.
"Sibal's night with her..." she whispered. Nose Dive laughed pulling Amber's arm toward him.
"Come on baby, that's not to stop us from going." Nose Dive began to unzip his black pants. Amber stared motionless; what could she do except go along with it? Nose Dive cocked his head to the side noticing Amber's blank face. *Why isn't she into this?* he wondered staring back at her. Suddenly he noticed her eyes. They were yellow... Nose Dive advanced toward her. "Oh Amber?" Amber looked at him. Nose Dive grabbed her neck and pulled her close to him, "If you don't give me head right now, I'll kill you."
"What?" She shrieked, "You cant do that! I'm a vampyre! I'm already dead like you!" Amber's forehead began to sweat. Nose Dive glared.
"A vampire with Yellow Eyes, nice one... you have your options, Miss VanDrake." Amber shook nervously and slowly began sinking to her knees.
"IDIOT! WHERE ARE YOU?!" Sibal yelled loudly.
"Shit!" Nose Dive hissed, zipping his pants up again. He looked down at Amber. "I'll save you for later." Amber closed her eyes; something had to be done before it was too late.
Tanya ran as fast as she could, thinking quickly every second. Everything seemed so wrong... suddenly she stopped. "It's night... how do the ducks not materialize?" Slowly a smirk crossed her face as she ran to find Sibal.

I've got to get myself out of Transylvania...
