The letter was delivered directly to us at Somerset (!) where we were due to be camping at that time. Whomever delivered this letter knew where we were going to be.

The letter reads:-

To my dearest Scout Troop "14th Winchester

This is just a small note to let you know that I am safe and well. Whilst taking a small holiday at Trek Cart 2000 I decided that I was in need of a longer holiday.

I became friends with a group of Ventures who agreed to take me away to get the rest I am in great need of. Sorry I had to leave with no notification but I am no good at goodbye's.

I will keep you updated on my movements.

Looking forward to seeing you at Trek Cart 2001. Missing you already.

So it seems that Bob is all well and good. But a couple of points don't seem to add up...

To start with, how did Bob write, and post the letter? As previous mentioned, we [ahem] removed his limbs, and would therefore have no ability to utilise writing implements. The more cynical amongst could also argus that he is only a totem pole, but we'll ignore such petty remarks.

Secondly, how did he know where we were next intending to hold our camp? We had every intention of leaving him at home and had [ahem] neglected to tell him about it.

Of course this information could have easily been passed on by a third party (thank you) and likewise the letter could have been ghostwritten.

So the hunt continues! Now we really don't know what we are investigating. Has he been bobnapped? Has he gone on holiday? Or is there something altogether far more sinister going on?
