Hello and welcome to Suchimu-Ni Poi Products. First let me start with a short history of poi. Poi is a Maori word that means weight, and has existed under many names in many places world wide for centuries. Poi is generally a length or flexible cord vines, roots, rope, chain, and many others.

The “Line” is the attached to a “Head” which is a weight and could be any number of things. Poi is used mainly as a dance or recreational activity…… to some of us it has become a way of life.

As you learn Poi you will hit your self many times. I suggest learning at your own pace at a nice a fluid speed so you have control of the poi. You will hit yourself sometimes so by moving slow and controlled it will not hurt nearly as much if you were swinging as fast as you could and be less likely to be able to get the poi back under control before it crashes.

Poi should not be less about who knows more than whom or who can move more fluently to music and more about the weight of the poi. Sometimes you will find the poi controlling you - this is the euphoric feeling I want to share.

All Suchimu-Ni Poi products are quality hand-made with the highest standards and contain a 25 year warrenty as long as ALL pieces of the poi are returned to Suchimu-Ni for repairs and analysis so we can improve and better serve our customers. Warranty is void though if there is any suspicion of the poi being misused.

I ask each and every one of you to take care and enjoy- at least remotely as much as I have over the years.

Have an excellent day!
