MIGRATIONS AND EMIGRATIONS OF JEWS FROM ICHENHAUSEN
I have copied out a list of Jews who either left Ichenhausen to go to bigger places in Germany or left the country altogether. It was compiled in about 1928 by Heinrich Sinz, the priest of Ichenhausen, who has written much about Jewish life in that place.
Under a few entries, in italics, I have put extracts from family trees that I have in my possession. There is no certainty that the extracts and the entries (from Sinz) above them refer to the same people. A pattern does seem to emerge from the few examples that I can supply (I have not omitted any that do not fit!): Each entry seems to take the form '…,X, Y, Z Surname'. In all my examples Z seems to be the name of the father of the names preceding it. In one (see
Isak Jakob SELIGMANN (1867), below) Sinz seems to have inverted the father and son's names. I may be wrong about this naming convention used by Sinz, but if more examples can be provided from other family trees, this idea can be tested better.If you spot Familiar names on this list, please contact me,
