Bad Boys 2

DISCLAIMER: This is my first review, so I'm trying to find my niche...

Okay, here's the deal. Mike and Marcus are reunited in this sequel to the highly popular 1995 film Bad Boys. In this latest adventure, instead of Cocaine, it's ecstasy, and instead of Tea Leoni, it's Gabrielle Union. Other than that, you're looking at the same film. This film was honestly enjoyable for the first 90 minutes. There was the undenyable chemistry between Smith and Lawrence, and the backing of Jerry Bruckheimer and Michael Bay. Needless to say there was action. There was a car chase or 4, a shootout or 4, and even 2 rats having sex. I'd normally be offput with that, but I found myself moderatly aroused. I guess it's been a while, what can I say? Anyway, as I said the first 90 minutes of this film was exactly what I had hoped for. I was loving the action and the comedy sequences, when something odd happened. The nostalgia of this film rubbed off and uncovered a film as ugly as that porno with Star Jones. Martin Lawrence became uber-annoying, the action scenes became repetitive, and then the plot just got rediculous. They formed a Militia and invaded Cuba....That's right, CUBA. The Miami P.D. invaded Cuba...It was at that point I almost vomited in the theatre. Anyway, this movie provided enough action, comedy and steamy rat sex scenes for me to give it a 5.5/10.
