Jeepers Creepers 2

Continuing the summer of sequels, the horror arm of it, is Jeepers Creepers 2. The original Jeepers Creepers was a brilliant horror film that came out a few years ago. It centered around a brother and sister being stalked by a demonic creeper. The demon wanted the boy's eyes (hence the title, like the song, "Jeepers Creepers, where'd ya get those peepers?"). In the end, he gave his life to save his sister. It ended on a horribly sad note, and I enjoyed it.
Naturally, I was hoping that the sequel to one of the most original horror movie in years to be of the same high caliber. It was written and directed by the same guy, and that usually bodes well for a sequel.
The basic plot here involves the last day of the same feeding period depicted in the last one, only this time the creeper is after a bus full of kids. One by one, he picks off the kids, until the father of a victim shows up with a harpoon gun. They kill it a few times, and basically, it runs out of time and begins to hibernate. In the closing sequence, we see the father and his other son watching over the creeper 23 years later.
Now, don't get me wrong, this movie is enjoyable. The carnage is something to watch and appreciate. And the creeper is impeccably done. Very convincing. What I didn't like was the dialogue. It was worse than Freddy VS Jason for God's sakes! And really, how many guys, on a basketball team or not, piss standing side-by-side with everything hanging out? Am I wrong here? For some reason, there was a whole lot of homo-eroticism here, and not enough T&A. That was dissapointing.
Here's the thing. If you want to see a decent horror movie, rent the first one. Or, go see Freddy VS Jason. Jeepers Creepers 2, you get a 3 out of 10. Sorry, better luck next time!
