Dodgeball

In recent years, there has been a few people who make the most ridiculously funny movies. Ben Stiller, Owen Wilson, Vince Vaughn, and Will Farrell. The movies they make are juvenile, over the top, and hysterical. And this latest installment, Dodgeball starring Stiller and Vaughn, is no exception.
The plot follows Vaughn's little Average Joe gym, which is about to be bought by Stiller's Globo Gym. His only hope is to win $50,000 in a Dodgeball tournament in Las Vegas. On Vaughn's team is Stephen Root, the geeky hero from Jeeper's Creepers, a couple of generic characters, Christine Taylor, and a pirate? Well, anyway, they gain the services of a legendary dodgeball player, played by Rip Torn, and they play dodgeball.
For the most part, the gags include people getting beaned by balls, wrenchs, and most painfully, vehicles. Poor Stephen Root. I laughed for most of the movie. Some of the one-liners are superb, and the physical stuff was pretty great. Gary Cole playing the straight announcer was classic Cole. And the cameos by William Shatner and Chuck Norris were great. Any movie where Rip Torn throws wrenches at people is a winner in my book. Although the pirate guy really confused me....
Anyway, its getting a 7. Goddamned funny.
