Dr. Nuhad Akl
Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences, Byblos
Dr. Akl had her BS, MS and Ph.D. degrees in Chemistry from
the American University of Beirut. Her Post doctorate at the University of
Maryland, College Park, where she was granted a Fulbright Scholarship. She
joined LAU as Assistant Professor in 1971. She was upgraded to Associate Professor,
Professor and Chair of the Natural Science Division and then Director of
the School of Arts and Sciences. In October 1996, she was appointed Acting
Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences. In October 1998 she was appointed
Dean of the School of Arts and Sciences.
Dr. Akl also taught at AUB, and the Louaizeh College for Higher
Education. She wrote several Publications in Scientific International journals,
attended several seminars, conferences and other academic activities.
