Welcome to Bohn's Shih tzu. We put our hearts and souls into assuring that every dog we own and puppies that we produce are healthy and sound and will be for their entire life. We have spent many years searching for the right pedigree to improve the Shih tzu breed. The Shih tzu is an excellent choice for retirees as well as families with children. The Shih tzu temperment is very affectionate and docile. They love people and other pets. The Shih tzu enjoys being a part of the family. All of our Shih tzu are part of our family and are not kennel dogs.

Bohn's Shih Tzu produces a limited amount of puppies each year from quality parents. We breed for quality rather than quantity. All of our dogs are AKC registered. We breed for health, temperament and beauty. We strive to produce puppies that will make the best pets possible for qualified homes.

Please be informed about the hereditary conditions that the Shih tzu may have & choose your breeder very carefully! Please research these hereditary conditions so you may know what to ask a breeder. There are some informational links at the bottom of this page & we are more than happy to help you along the way as to what to look for. Purchasing a puppy from a back yard breeder or puppy mill only encourages these people to continue breeding puppies with hereditary conditions and cause you a lot of heartache with a sick puppy. Put your money into a healthy puppy rather than vet bills to fix a sick puppy. Remember, you get what you pay for.

We welcome all potential buyers the opportunity to visit my dogs and see what wonderful personalities they have. They are very happy, loveable & love to cuddle. Our dogs are not kenneled, they are a part of our family and are treated as such. The puppies are born and raised in our home and are handled by our entire family including our 5 children. Puppies are socialized with normal home living (ie: T.V.'s, vacuum cleaner, telephone, other dogs, cats, & kids). This creates a very lovable, social, and well adapted puppy.

All puppies receive expert veterinary care prior to placement and buyer's are given an extensive written health guarantee. You also recieve a lifetime of support. We are always here to answer any questions you may have. We have had the same vet for over 20 years and he is more than happy to give a reference. We also have references of several people who own one of our puppies & several families have come back when they were ready to add a 2nd & 3rd puppy to their family. Puppies are ready for their new homes no earlier than 8 weeks of age. Bohn's Shih tzu puppies are worth waiting for. Some puppies are sold before they are born. Please make sure you are ready for a puppy as monies are non refundable.

Some are from a previous years litter and we leave the pics up so you can see the color's each female produces. We may just have your new little furr baby waiting for you.
